The Talmudvision told me Obama's economy is strong...and the (fake) statistics show that inflation for the little people is minimal...

Restaurant companies should brace for a challenging period as consumers grapple with the rising costs of rent, prescriptions and car loans and take advantage of cheaper groceries to eat at home more.

That’s the verdict of Moody’s Investors Service, which on Tuesday slashed its operating-profit growth forecast for the restaurant sector and revised its outlook to stable from positive. The ratings agency is now expecting operating profit to grow 2% to 4% in the next 12 to 18 months, down from a previous forecast of growth of 5% to 6%.

“Consumers are wrestling with higher nondiscretionary spending needs, while restaurant companies face higher operating costs, predominantly labor and challenged traffic trends,” Moody’s analyst Bill Fahy wrote in a note.

Funny you should post this. The wife and I went out to eat last night and the restaurant (which is outstanding Mediterranean) was empty and all the other restaurants alongs the way displayed empty parking lots.

I've been noticing for months. One of the higher-end restaurants in this area sometimes has one or two families...us and someone else. Used to be full most nights...ordinary folks and cops alike.

My go to is still packed. It's higher end and the patrons have money. I used to spread the love around but I've noticed prices are up, portions are smaller and ingredients are of lessor quality at the other places I was a fixture at. I love to cook also, so I don't mind eating better food at home. I'm really eating out for the social aspect.
