to be honest.. the Dinosaurs looks like they staged this
I've been a lifelong Dinosaur supporter ever since the Triassic period , but they're looking desperate and doing whatever they can to gain attention. Very narcissistic. They lost me

The Earth was alot smaller back then, so I would venture the say No they were pressed for space

Dinosaurs were very happy, provided they got their nicotine fix:

;D Ha!
That's the best way of imagining the world of the Dinosaurs... Back then Earth was spinning much faster about 6 h vs our 24 h. Around the equator the centrifugal forces were so great that earth was looking like a jam filled donut in shape, and the centripetal forces practically was equal to gravity. IOW a zero gravity world around the equator, where the really really big Dinosaurs lived (you may have had reptiles that were several 100's of feet in size there. Ferns, grass and flowers 1000's of feet high (REALLY!). Gigantic insects. It has been established that the fossiles of the medium sized Dinosaurs we have found on earth couldn't have lived in our far out gravity man. The heart and blood vessels couldn't have been sufficiently big and strong to pump up the blood to the head, and these mini-Dino's didn't live around the equator.
Life around the equator would have appeared interesting to us, most animal life forms probably spent the majority of their times floating, just one light kick off and you could spend a morning floating about. The morning was probably just an hour or so (remember the rapid spinning earth). Imagine seeing a 1000 feet dinosaur floating around a couple of hundred feets above the ground, sniffing flower scents. Among butterfly's with a wingspan of up to a hundred feet.
Then one sunny day this would abruptly and unexpectedly (to the physics ignorant beasts roaming the earth back then at least) come to an end, a disaster was looming under their feet, as Earth became more and more donut shape and eventually the centripetal force was greater than the gravitational force, and a great band of crust of the earth down to pieces of the mantel was flung out into space, which formed our moon some 70 million years ago. The momentum of our Earth moon complex today, is equal to the momentum of a Dinosaur age relatively bigger mass Earth that was spinning around its axis in 6 hours, the math works.
The heavier pieces torn out of earth belonging to the mantle, was pulled towards the side of the moon facing the sun (yeah gravity man!), the lighter pieces of earth in the crust went to the dark side of the moon. Of course all life around the equator was pretty immediately extinguished as it was flung into space, and probably most of the life extinguished in the cataclysm, up towards south and North Pole, which had similar gravity environment, as we have today globally. As the crust left atmosphere, the Dinosaurs gigantic plants and insects got freeze dried in space, and you can find dust of these creatures on the far side of the moon today.
Yeah man!

Remember also that going by the theory of plate tectonics way back when, the earth and Continents looked nothing like today.
Example, Africa Western coastal lines and south American eastern coast lines match !
Also the oxygen levels are said to be higher! Plus even today western California is heading north, while east of the San Andreas fault are sorta staying in place!
Shaking and baking baby !

You are just a high gravity grunt with little imagination, like all of us here today. The only animals and plants that survived the cataclysm of the creation of the moon 65-70 million years ago, were the ones that where close to the polar regions. Small creatures adapted to a high gravity environment.

how much oil in a small dyno....like elephant sized? mostly water....so one barrel? and that's VERY generous
extrapolate from there and arrive at coo-coo land
my 70's-80's publik skool programming taught me that oil came from dyno carcasses
i'm a little bit pissed the skype did that to a whole generation of us {--->)

Maybe part of it , but by far not the whole! Seems there is huge amounts of frozen methane clathrate/hydrate here on earth and huge amounts of hydrocarbons in the solar system!
The moon Titan is a fair example!
Organic and non organic, under high pressure and probably heat = maybe crude oil ?
