I admit I have given up for this year. After canning 30 quarts of pears I've had it. Yesterday I peeled and cored about 2 gallons of pears, dumped them in a fermenter and plan on pear wine in a couple months. Not only that but I figure I have enough pears under the tree yet to fill 3 more fermenters in the next couple days.
These are not happy looking pears. Dead ripe, bugs love them, the coons have had a field day but they still taste good after the bounce spots are cut out and the bugs evicted.
I suspect winter is going to be joyous this year!!!
