Under the section of the memo dealing with safety, the memo was emphatic.
“DO NOT leave the hotel,” it read.
Also under the heading of issues related to safety, the players were advised to leave all “expensive jewelry at home,” not to bring large sums of money and not to use ATMs.
The memo also had a section entitled “health and performance.”
In that section, players were warned to drink only bottled water and avoid the consumption of ice.
Players were also sternly warned about the food.
“Eat all meals in the meal room. DO NOT order room service,” it said, adding, “DO NOT eat outside of the team meal room.”
