Romney, like all politicians, is an actor. Trump had no business inviting him to a meeting, unless he had some "purpose" for him (interview). You are supposed to perceive "nothing happened."

I didn't say "nothing happened". A few things happened. First, Trump and staff got to see what Romney would do if given the chance. They could look at his strategy and weigh whether he would be a necessary asset. Second, it was a closure meeting for Trump to be the boss and Romney to face up to being the loser. Third, it was a public image scene- both internally for the Repubs and externally. It is a total win situation for Trump.

I see several things that happened.

1) Mittens was SUMMONED by the very man he insulted that is the worse possible position to be in and NOBODY is going to back your ass up.

2)Trump gave him a talking to on a par as would Don corlione, speaks nice but you can read the subtle threats that you KNOW he can make good on now.

3 He made him do a perp walk in front of the media all by himself where he was pelted with the tomatoes of all his prior comments...he was shamed and went scuurying to his car with his tail between his legs.

4) The reason why he couldnt speak was because he is still trying to wrap his pin head around the fact that he got his ass handed to him in detail....probably the first time ever..he is not going to screw with Trump because he is too unpredictable.

5) He is politically collecting the heads of all his detractors as a sign of his dominance

LOL @ PERP WALK. Romney did not say anything positive about Trump or the effort to assemble a good team for the country. Romney did get his ass handed to him.

All he could say was "far reaching discussion", in depth, detailed. In a job interview, a "far reaching discussion" is one that is beyond the reach of a reasonable fit. I know he used it in the context of international situations which implied the SoS position, but the words also give clues to mindset.

Romney has control of more money than Trump, and, he has a lot more connections than Trump. Romney is head of a second-tier political dynasty. Trump didn't "lecture" Romney. Trump is trying to mend relations to access Romney's connections. Those who are claiming Romney was "uneasy" are reading into the situation what they wish.

Bottom line: Trump needs Romney, but Romney doesn't need Trump. The suggestion he will be the Romnamacare "Czar" is probably correct.

Trump needs Manchurian McCain to get shit done in the Senate. Trump is now encountering reality where pushback is something he can't run roughshod over. Similar to how he's had to beg banksters to bail him out in the past. He either kisses McCain's ass, or McCain could side with the Bolshe...uh, Democrats against Trump's legislation.

It would be a nice gesture to find Lindsey Graham and Jeb a cabinet position. I wonder if Obama pardons Hillary, can she can get a cabinet position too.

Next up, Trump should tell the evangelicals to fuck off on the religious freedom thing, it was only a joke, and that he will be concentrating his efforts to a climate change tax we badly need. This is all shaping up nicely!

Soon to be announced by Trump, a new study shows we will only need some fence repair on the border and the second amendment really isn't as clear as we first thought.

No. She is just saying that a lot of Trump loyalists are uneasy. I suspect many will go along with a Romney pick, but it will be the first chink in Trump's armor if he does. He could still survive it with near full support. Another possibility is he allows his election supporters fall by the wayside and pick up Republican supporters to replace them. We have to wait and see.

I can appreciate Master Sun's teachings to build alliances, but come on.

An alliance with Tulsi Gabbard is wise. An alliance with (another) con-man is stupid, at best.

Trump must be less than a true Rebel... more a deformist

A product of the System who used the System to become de jure head of the System. And who now implements policies completely favorable to the System (despite the shrill noise of the Jewsmedia claiming otherwise).

Giuliani is as responsible for 9/11 as Dick Cheney. "Better" only in the sense of being burned or crushed to death instead of raped to death.

For false flags sake! I thought it was an alt-right prank, that they were munching on frogs legs. But it is straight from the Washington Post/Devils Mouth...

I just got the idea that possibly Trump is just trolling Romney with this. Effectively having Romney praising him now for his vision effectively neutralize him later on, when he doesn't give him the Secretary of State position, but the ambassadorship of China, Saudi Arabia or Mexico or another one of America's greatest trading partners.

Frog Legs! ;D

It's a bit like when Amundsen went to the South Pole and he ate his sled dogs, after he used them to their full potential. Nothing personal, it's just business...

He'll get severe flatulence though which will stay with him until he gets rid of Romney!

What kind of article is this?

The trio dined on sautéed frog legs, prime sirloin with a citrus glaze and carrots for the main course. Romney had lamb chops with the mushroom bolognese sauce. They all had chocolate cake for dessert.

Every time I see that Bolton name, officer Joe Bolton comes to mind. Had to be a 1960s show where I got his name etched into my memory.

The Trump strategy is Dictatorial from what I can tell,

He seals Congress together with a Romney/Ryan pick, then gears the rest of an admin to create friction on it.

Mix those two and you get horsepower at your command.

Good, I want Trump in command. That's why I voted for him. I'm willing to wait until he's actually the POTUS to see how he's going to play out. In order to drain the swamp you have to get into it and get dirty. I don't care who he picks for his cabinet....those appointments are not permanent and one thing I know about Trump, he's not afraid of saying the words "You're fired"!

You're correct. I'll be optimistic but skeptical for now...
