A Republican elector from Texas says he is resigning his position instead of casting his vote for Donald Trump, calling the Electoral College "corrupted from its original intent" and saying voting for the president-elect would "bring dishonor to God."

Art Sisneros was considering in August the possibility of becoming a so-called faithless elector, meaning he would refuse to vote for Trump if the GOP candidate won the Lone Star State and its 38 electoral votes in November.

In a Saturday blog post on his website, Sisneros said he had decided he was not comfortable defying his pledge to vote for his party's nominee, but neither could he cast his vote for Trump.

Sisneros, a libertarian and a Christian, supported Rand Paul in the Republican primary; for president, he wrote in Thomas Hoefling, a little-known anti-abortion activist from Iowa whom Sisneros called “the only qualified” candidate in the race. The day before the general election, Sisneros published an essay entitled “Biblical Voting in the Age of Trump” detailing his qualms with the president-elect on his personal website. The essay closely examines a number of passages of scripture in an attempt to divine whether “it is acceptable for a Christian to vote for a man like Trump for President.” Sisneros concludes that it is not:

Well he did support Rand Paul, anti-communist, controlled opposition. Nearly as far as controlled opposition goes these days.

He's left it a bit late to retain his integrity. He should have stepped down when Trump got the nomination. Unless there is a legitimate reason why he could not.

I guess at least he can be replaced, however it's extra work for the remainder. Have to have the in fight now to get a replacement on board.

Why did he take the job if he wasn't willing to do the work? He's not voting for himself. He is a proxy for the Voters of Texas.

And who's this Judeo-"Christian" warmonger he endorses? The only one qualified? Wow, Kool-Aid much?

lots of people take jobs just because

kinda like when you go to your local libary before and long you end sitting on 3-4 different committees that dont do much of nothing.

He thought that casting of the ballot would have beeen nothing more than procedural.

Now that he see's that snowflakes are looking for any way possible to thwart our constitutional republic process of elections

he is getting cold feet........ never thought his job was going to be THAT important

Like I said let him step down and more serious minded elector take his place

The political party started with Alan Keyes, a staunch Zionist. Very Judeo-"Christian".

So, you believe he is a coward too cowardly to admit he's a coward? As opposed to his claim that Trump is "not Godly" enough for him?

Of course he's a coward hiding behind a book. He isn't the first and won't be the last to do so

I would call absolute bullshit on him to his face.

And my question to him would be.

Would you have had any problem casting that ballot for Hillary?

Would we be having this conversation?

If you would have had no problem doing so for a woman who is wholesale butchering Hellcat that has more bodies Then al capone at his peak.

Then what (g)od are you serving?

Was (g)od directing you to her?

You're smarter than this, TT!

What is it about Trump that has deranged so many folks into thinking Refusal to Support Trump = Slobbering Support for Clinton?

The guy may be an idiot and a coward, but there is zero evidence he has any use for Her Majesty.

So what the bloody hell was he doing accepting a fliiping job where he was going to be casting a ballot for the lesser of 2 evils?

Why did he take the Job that was going to pottentially put him at odds with his faith?

This makes no sense.
