So, who can tell me about this show, I've turned channels past it and this guy is always grinning and belittling those he is talking with... kind of pisses me off.
I gather he is a hero or survivor though.

He's Negan, a beloved high school coach who went complete psychopath after his wife's death. His barbed-wire bat is "Lucille," his wife's name. I'm not sure how closely the Talmudvision version is following the comic books.

IIRC, in this season's premiere, Daryl took a swing at him, but that got beloved Glenn exterminated. I don't follow it, but saw the editorial commentary.
