While I know Christ was not born in December (September, actually), and that "Christmas" was originally a syncretism into Christianity, celebrate what it is supposed to mean: the appearance of the Savior of the World on Earth, peace to all, and goodwill toward men (and women).

May you have a pleasant gathering with your family & friends, and safe travels if you journey.

We should all recall this every Christmas:

The war should have ended with the Christmas Truce. What a testament that would have been to the character of the European man.

Someone argued that a census would not have been held in September, during harvest time. To me that sounds probable. And as was first argued it wouldn't have been done in the winter when nights were cold and roads muddy either is of course possible. Most likely time would then be between harvest and winter. October-November sometime... but really it doesn't matter which day he was born. We can still commemorate his birth on Christmas Day...

Merry Christmas to all of you!

May you all stay well and not get this crud I caught.
I haven't been sick in 10 years and caught a virus 2 weeks ago from the neighbor kid (germ factory). Down for 3 days, then it turned into a cough and yesterday it turned into a cold. Fooey!
Anyway, stay warm and well!

Be sure to take colloidal silver and a lot of vitamin C. Also, hot water with honey is good for the cough and throat. Hope you feel better to enjoy Christmas day and eve.

Also, Merry Christmas everyone! Be well, safe, and home with your families.

Bah, humbug! Nah, not really. Christmas is my favorite holiday. Something magical in the air and family time around a laden dinner table. Kids happy. I have to travel a thousand miles with my truck and trailer but I will make it home sometime Christmas day. Be safe and happy folks.

The best thing about Christmas is seeing kids happy, and opening presents. Wishing you a safe journey back home, Woodman, to be with yours.

Just had a Costco ham here, it was amazing and about as close to a fresh farm ham as you're going to get, store bought.
