They are not anemic, negroes have lower general oxygen requirements, skeletal muscle is not used at a high capacity in even a top athlete in hard training periods for more than a fraction of a day, the brain is used all the time. And of course you have a bell curve in Hemoglobin concentrations too, none of the top athletes are anemic.
