With the dow being at an all time high, I thought I'd check on my pension from work. Logged on, and balance, $0.00. All gone. Checked on recent transactions, and "plan wide asset transfer out" was all I got, dated Dec 31, 2016.
A search online I found out that the union switched brokers. Somehow I didn't get that memo. I guess that money is someplace new. I figured I'd probably never see that money anyway, but to log on and see a balance of $0 is a reminder of Ponce, if you don't hold it, you don't own it.
I'll be making some calls on Monday to find out what the heck happened....

Thanks, but I wonder if I ever actually had it to begin with...
My first thought was identity theft. I checked my bank and other accounts, just fine. Second thought, was that union went belly up, but I would have heard from my union brothers about that...an internet search sounds like the funds just moved brokers. Hopefully everything is fine, and I just didn't know about. Likely that's the case, and I just need to sign up with a new broker to look at the carrot dangling in front of me thinking I might actually get to retire. :)

My pension isn't a "true" pension so to speak. Per the union contract, the company puts $420 per month into an investment account with a broker that we can manage, much like a 401K. We are vested 100% as long as we pay our union dues. Before that was vanguard, now apparently it's fidelity.
But yeah, poof it's all gone (Southpark).

Sorry, I couldn't resist. But seriously, I hope it's just a matter of being moved, and the new account will show all you're due!

No worries, Crimethink. Sounds like it's been moved, but I did name this topic with that Southpark video in mind actually.
I guess I'm mentally prepared to see a bunch of zeros in an account. Figured it would happen across the map though, not just individually.

Did Jesus teach you to giggle and laugh at the misfortune of others....or did you learn that yourself?

He taught me not to worry about worldly things. Money and bank accounts are worldly things you're putting faith and trust in.
Also taught me not to fret over anyone who can take your life, but to worry about He who can uncreate your very being.

I agree. :) You could have just said this to begin with though.
