After 90 years, Sears announced Thursday that it would sell the Craftsman brand to Stanley Black & Decker (SWK) for $900 million to raise cash it needs, as Sears weathers store closings and declining revenue. Sears will continue to sell Craftsman products – which include everything from wrenches to floor jacks – for 15 years without restriction. After that period, it will pay 3% royalties to Stanley Black & Decker, which sells its own line of tools as well as other brands.

The Jew parasite, (((Eddie Lampert))), who powerdove Sears into the ground over the last decade:
http://www.businessinsider.com/sears-failing-stores-closing-edward-lampert-bankruptcy-chances-2017-1
Lampert, a former Wall Street prodigy, took control of Sears more than a decade ago and became its CEO in 2013. But he's rarely seen in the office, typically visiting about once a year for the shareholder meeting and projecting into videoconference rooms at Sears' Hoffman Estates, Illinois headquarters the rest of the time, according to interviews with employees. He prefers to stay on Indian Creek Island off the coast of Miami, behind a desk dressed up with the Sears logo. The island has been dubbed the "billionaire bunker," partly because of a private police force that protects the island's 86 residents.
"The only way you see Eddie is through a screen," one former executive told Business Insider. "We used to joke about who had to go upstairs to get fixed and see Oz."
(...)
Senior executives say Lampert has cut investments in stores because he's trying to turn it into a tech company that collects and sells customer data through the Shop Your Way loyalty program.
(...)
While the failure of the company could certainly wipe out his hedge fund's investment in the stock, these deals have set Lampert up to benefit in other ways, creating a conflict of interest, according to a shareholder lawsuit.
Failure is a near certainty, according to industry watchers. Analysts are expecting Sears to file for bankruptcy within the next two years, and perhaps much sooner.
Former and current Sears staff members who spoke to Business Insider put the blame squarely on Lampert for destroying the iconic American brand.
Not surprisingly, Lampert is a Randroid ["Ayn Rand" (sic) cultist].

Yeah...... and I'd put money down on shorting the stock that says Sears will not be here in 15 years.....

I was wondering who the asshole was calling the shots to destroy the company. He has done an Obama-job with Sears. I see this happening in many companies (even my own) where idiots lacking vision fail to run the company intelligently.

Not everyone can afford Snap-on. Nor is everything Snap-on offers still made in America, Europe, or even Taiwan.
Personally, I prefer Willi Hahn (made in Germany) for precision tools...commonly known as Wiha. Generally lower-cost and equal or greater quality to Snap-on.

Most people can afford a great tool if they would use it frequently. No one can afford a cheap tool. They pay less for what looks like a good tool but don't realize that because the true cost of buying cheap tools is only revealed in the long run.

I agree: for professional / routine use, buy quality, buy once; buy cheap, buy thrice (at higher overall cost).
I learned that lesson long ago. Especially with precision screwdrivers, hence, my Wiha sets. :)

Willi Hahn is my preference for all precision electronics work. Well, at least the German made stuff. Wiha is now making stuff in Asia, Vietnam, in particular. The Wiha lifetime warranty doesn't apply to such pieces, either.

He probably stocked up on sell options multiples of nominal value of what his shares are valued. He shits on everyone else. Intentionally ruining the livelihoods of tens of thousands of families, and destroying generations of work to make Sears what it was before this parasite decided to fuck it up.

Kinda on point, well maybe not much, I don't give a fuck either way...
Okay after looking back in my little welded socket box which I have had since I was about 15 none of the original pieces are there but a collected bunch of shit over the years. I have Zero Craftsman anything except a 1/4 drive ratchet which I recently found at the local pull-a-part. Both 3/8 ratchets are S-K and VERY worn out but I can still put a 3 foot pole onto them and break shit loose. I should actually post a pic cause people can't believe the shit I can do with a 10lb box (Which has my 3lb socket set) and anything automotive. My son had a set of wrenches and sockets weighed almost the same but someone just grabbed it and went away. Who wants a box full of fucking shit? Can't drop that and get 10 bux or whatever. I like my shit scattered and hard to off, just who I am.
Anyways as for the S-K I would like new items but am afraid they are complete crap compared to my 40 year abused junk I have. I do in a way like how worn the ratchets are because they can do angles like a universal but without that part.. lol. Old junk, who want's that anyways.

Did "Lifetime" actually refer to Sears/Craftsman?
Tools marked 'Sears' no, tools marked 'Craftsman' yes, any condition no questions asked and no receipt required* (20+ years ago). When I did appliance repair many years ago EVERY SINGLE week I would have to go to Sears to replace my Craftsman 5/16" nutdriver (most used tool of all my tools) until I got tired of that nonsense and bought a Proto 5/16" nutdriver which never wallowed out after many years of use like the Craftsman nutdriver did in a few days of use. The Craftsman tool guy saw me every week for a couple months and simply swapped out my wallowed out nutdriver for a new one. Years ago I've taken obviously abused Craftsman tools in and exchanged them for new, no questions asked, nor any static. Used to be the Craftsman tool warranty was as good as gold even if Craftsman tools were not professional quality. Craftsman set the benchmark for 'lifetime warranty' on hand tools.
*requiring a receipt is how retailers and manufacturers skate on their 'lifetime warranty'...who keeps all their receipts for stuff like that?? That's what they're banking on, no one keeping their receipt.

Hence, why some make new ones. The templates are "out there." LOL
Personally, I scan every receipt of note for warranty purposes. Exactly because the thermal paper turns either black or blank in time.

I never thought about this
But come to think of it....every so often I would manage to put a receipt away and only to have years later the receipt was unreadable
I always thought I must have spilled something on it.
Only know I realize these cock suckers use " mission impossible " paper

Cheap tools do have their place, especially on something like a farm. For mechanical work you do want precision, but to hammer in some fence posts you can buy a cheap sledge hammer from harbor freight and that's really all you need.
Btw, this is the best place to get deals on tools that I've found:

That comes from a time when men would actually include in their will who actually got their tools.

Kudos! However headlights will probably not be a priority at those times I suspect...;) My point in my earlier post was though that along with declining practicality among men, you also have increased difficulty in fixing things because of highly engineered products. That’s why men don’t hang around garages any longer. I do think I am among the guys who could wrap my head around a 60’s-70’s car and fix most things without a mechanic with an occasional advice from likeminded friends.

This. Tried to change the small headlight bulb in a SAAB and finally had a kid from the parts store reach in there for me in his parking lot.
Agree that modern electronic ignitions and fuel injection systems preclude us from working on our cars like in the old distributor-carburetor days.

Often times the engine has to be lifted out of the car for the mechanic to be able to reach whatever needs to be replaced/repaired, space has been reduced...
A layman doesn’t have the equipment for these types of repairs. And then of course if you repair or even change the oil in your 3-5 year old car yourself you void the warranty.

Try changing the back 2 plugs in a 6cyl Grand Am. You have to unbolt the motor mounts and jack the engine up.... albeit putting stress on the real main seals because of the "bend" Oh... and all too often, the heat has them hopelessly frozen in place anyway..... Good times..... good times...
