I'd heard mention of this Iceland based http://archive.is service a couple times recently, and finally checked it out with a couple news stories already in mind to save. Here's what their home page reads presently:

archive.is
webpage capture

BOOKMARKLET: Drag this buttonarchive.is to the toolbar and you will be able to save pages in one click!

My url is alive and I want to archive its content

Archive.is is a time capsule for web pages!

It takes a 'snapshot' of a webpage that will always be online even if the original page disappears.

It saves a text and a graphical copy of the page for better accuracy
and provides a short and reliable link to an unalterable record of any web page
including those from Web 2.0 sites:

http://archive.is/2013.05.01/http://nickqizhu.github.io/dc.js/

http://archive.is/2014.06.26/https://www.google.com/maps/… (http://archive.is/2014.06.26/https://www.google.com/maps/@-12.1858563,96.8293918,366m/data=%213m1%211e3)

This can be useful if you want to take a 'snapshot' a page which could change soon: price list, job offer, real estate listing, drunk blog post, ...

Saved pages will have no active elements and no scripts, so they keep you safe as they cannot have any popups or malware!

I want to search the archive for saved snapshots

search queries by example

microsoft.com (http://archive.is/microsoft.com)for snapshots from the host microsoft.com
*.microsoft.com (http://archive.is/*.microsoft.com)for snapshots from microsoft.com and all its subdomains (e.g. www.microsoft.com (http://www.microsoft.com))

http://twitter.com/burgerking (http://archive.is/http://twitter.com/burgerking)for snapshots from exact url (search is case-sensitive)
http://twitter.com/burg* (http://archive.is/http://twitter.com/burg*)for snapshots from urls starting with http://twitter.com/burg

So I went there to save a copy of http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/de-blasio-reads-book-kids-mirrors-fund-raising-probe-article-1.2620104 and found whoops, someone already saved it there http://archive.is/3JB82 a ~month ago. But it said if the saved page, which it displayed, looked different from the current version, I could opt to save it again, with the button to do so conveniently right there.

I tried the other page I'd had in mind to save, https://memoryholeblog.com/2016/11/10/president-donald-trump-the-art-of-the-deal and found no one had saved it yet. Archive.is went through a "Loading" process for about 15-20 seconds, which is around how long I find it takes for that page to finish loading at home as well. When it finishes, it displays their snapshot of the page: http://archive.is/erucC with the URL to save and find it again, right there in my browser's URL field. Some of you may have followed how last Nov,

Thread: Memoryhole Blog memoryholed? (http://gold-silver.us/forum/showthread.php?93757-Memoryhole-Blog-memoryholed)

(((they))) in cahoots with wordpress, knocked memoryholeblog offline, for nonsensical undefined "TOS Violation." I went to archive.org at that time looking for former pages there, and it appeared archive.org had been similarly scrubbed... :( Archive.org kinda-sorta 'has your back', if (((they))) don't have any objection...
