Anti-Trump Protester Sets Self on Fire Outside Trump’s D.C. Hotel

While the left would have you believe their anti-Trump antics are principled resistance to what they perceive as an illegitimate regime, the truth is that it’s closer to a complete and utter psychotic breakdown.
In spite of their longstanding tradition of positioning themselves as the “rational” side of American politics, progressives have descended into a serious state of anger and confusion as they struggle (and fail) to cope with their unprecedented election loss.
Instead of engaging in introspection and acknowledging that maybe Americans simply don’t agree with their policy prescriptions, liberals have written off an entire chunk of the country as “deplorable” and claim that Russia stole the election from Hillary Clinton for Donald Trump.
Against this, it’s hard to imagine any productive discussion arising and truth be told, Democrats have openly voiced their opposition to said discussion, preferring outrageous stunts that harm others – and even themselves – to reasoned conversation.
Leftist agitators have made known their plans to cause mischief at the inauguration ceremonies on Friday, so it is no surprise that some have already started trying to disrupt things in the days leading up to it. What is surprising is the methods being used: namely, setting one’s self on fire as one unidentified man did. Protesting outside Washington D.C.’s Trump International Hotel, a 45-year-old man lit himself on fire as he angrily chanted Trump’s name:
“‘(I’m protesting) the fact that we’ve elected somebody who is completely incapable of respecting the Constitution of the United States.’
The man, who said he was from California, suffered third-degree burns on 10 percent of his body, according to the Washington Post.
He had used a lighter and accelerant to start the fire.
Authorities said they were called to the hotel after receiving a report of a person ‘in distress’.
A bypasser said it was not initially clear what the man was protesting when he set fire to items of clothing in the street outside the hotel.
‘He set himself on fire and as flames ran up his back he yelled Trump several times then lay down in the street.”
(He) then walked over to the police/security,’ Michael Shoag, who arrived at the hotel after the man set himself on fire, said.
While the man appeared to have suffered burns to his back, he was able to walk.
Trump International Hotel is on the parade route that the president-elect will travel during the inauguration on Friday as he makes his way to the White House.
Anti-Trump protesters have been flocking to Washington DC this week ahead of the event.
