Typical stupidity. The "Nazi Anthem" (sic) was the Horst-Wessel-Lied ("Horst Wessel Song" aka "Die Fahne Hoch").

Das Lied der Deutschen ("Deutschland über Alles) was the anthem 1922-1945, and, its third stanza remains the anthem of the "Federal Republic" of Germany.

The confusion is easy, but the brainwashing results in the shrieks. Further, the "offended" is not really a German - she's a Bosniak (Serbian Muslim from Bosnia). Maybe she'd have preferred someone singing the Shahada.

Yes it is easy to be confused by it like you say crimethink. My wife's cousin had a German girlfriend some five years ago, and for some reason I ended up singing what I believed was the German national anthem, which was the one the singer at the tennis match was singing, and immediatelly I saw she got very troubled and she told me it was the "NAZI"-anthem, but I always assumed it was the very same as the melody is the same, and you rarely or more accurately never hear the words, sung at arenas etc...
