Just for the hell of it lets say a person came into the possession of some Nazi marked gold bars from WW2.
Would you melt them down and recast the gold bars for sale or keep them as they are with their original Nazi markings?

Historical value if real has a special value, but also in a general world view, lower than slime mold.
Tho the base metal price is what it is.

I suspect 95% of the stories about "Nazi gold" were made up fake news.

They would be confiscated under some still in force reparations laws that were either real or not real laws. Even if you had stuck them up your butt they would still want them as compensation for all the suffering.

Heretic, how dare you doubt the stories of the 6 million tons of gold the Nazi's confiscated from the Jews, most of it dental!

Personally, I would keep them. I couldn't melt history. Gold is gold and if it has Nazi markings, that doesn't change anything. If anything, it's adds to the story. Life is a story. Let it be told.

Keep one for historical value, melt the rest and convert to lamps and soap dishes.

You don't believe in mining technology?

Where did the gold go, and when was it mined?

nope, Neuro... total gold reserves should be a lot more than that. I do not buy it. As for the production numbers, I would love to see pictures instead of a chart.
