Gen 1:21 And God created the great sea animals, and all that creeps, having a living soul, which swarmed the waters, according to its kind; and every bird with wing according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Gen 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the soul of life according to its kind: cattle, and creepers, and its beasts of the earth, according to its kind. And it was so.

Gen 2:7 And Jehovah God formed the man out of dust from the ground, and blew into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

We see this soul embodies the mind, will and emotions of man. And it survives past the death of the flesh. What part of a computer survives after it is thrown into the trash?

but the soul will go to silicon heaven, except if you are a toaster or a photocopier machine. Anyway, souls have no place in science and are not a thing so why worry?

You are a talking self-contradiction.

no I'm talking sarcasm...of them, not you. I'm also quoting a sci-fi comedy tv show. If there was no silicon heaven, where would all the calculators go?

also that guy is not trying to explain, he's trying to convince and I think there is a difference. I'm not sure what others think about that. Maybe they agree or maybe they don't.

yes- sarcasm is at its best when it is contradictory. I think you are exactly right about his attempt to convince others while only forming a hypothesis without evidence. If the devil can convince people there is no God, then he can sway them with all sorts of ideas.

The rules of this world allow lies to be spoken so that people have to choose good and truth over the lies.

We are making computers that simulate life and consciousness. This simulation is prompted by a clock that tells the machine to run the simulation program. And we have programmed computers to "learn" by expanding the knowledge base. And we also have programs to tell them how to associate data with an artificial intelligence. But life is embodied in a soul. When the soul is gone, life is gone. The soul can choose whereas the computer must obey its every command.
