Carjack "suspects" kill man in front of family because they couldn't drive a stick

A Houston man has been shot and killed in front of his wife and child by young men who attempted to steal the family’s car only to find out it was a manual transmission that they didn’t know how to drive.

Harris County sheriff’s officials said 47-year-old Pedro Aguilar was killed after pulling up to the family’s apartment late Saturday.

Authorities say a second car pulled alongside with at least two suspects and pulled Aguilar from his vehicle and beat him before shooting him in the chest. He died at the scene.

Two suspects got into Aguilar’s car, discovered it was a manual transmission and then exited and fled in their own vehicle.

Authorities are searching for the suspects, described as being in their late teens or early 20s. [that should narrow it down to a million or so, right?]

It could be the lack of manual transmissions available these days but trying to find a junk one is darned hard. I have come to the conclusion that people who drive manual transmission cars have far less frequent accidents. My belief is that auto transmissions lead the mind into an ephemeral state of bliss and nirvana which allows more time for texting and reading comic books while us manual transmission guys pay attention to what the car is doing.

In the universe of FIGHT or FLIGHT the largest weapon in my arsenal is my mind. I find avoidance and flight to be more effective than fighting and martyrdom. But then that is just me.
