View Full Version : Declassified US intel: Germany tested nuclear weapon in October1944

There have been rumors for years that the fissile material used on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were German in origin, bartered to the Americans for safe passage for German leaders (allegedly, even Adolf himself).
While relatively high-yield conventional explosives do cause (small) mushroom clouds, they do not cause the EMP effects described.
The report was obtained by German newspaper Das Bild. Why did it take decades to declassify, if not for reporting something profound?

The statement of the German test pilot Hans Zinsser in the file is considered evidence: the missile expert says he observed in 1944 a mushroom cloud in the sky during a test flight near Ludwigslust.
His log submitted to the Allied investigators reads; 'In early October 1944 I flew away 12-15 km from a nuclear test station near Ludwigslust (south of Lübeck).
'A cloud shaped like a mushroom with turbulent, billowing sections (at about 7000 metres) stood, without any seeming connections over the spot where the explosion took place. Strong electrical disturbances and the impossibility to continue radio communication as by lightning turned up.'

According to other archival documents, the Italian correspondent Luigi Romersa observed on the ground the same explosion.
He had been sent by dictator Benito Mussolini to watch the test of a "new weapon" of the Germans.
He was ordered to report his impressions back to Mussolini.

More detail:
"Investigations, Research, Developments and Practical Use of the German Atomic Bomb," A.P.I.U. (Ninth Air Force) 96/1945 APO 696, U S Army, 19 August 1945." The report is classified secret. Note that the report begins in no uncertain terms: "the following information was obtained from four German scientists: a chemist, two physical chemists, and a rocket specialist. All four men contributed a short story as to what they knew of the atomic bomb development."
His affidavit is contained in a military intelligence report of August 19, 1945, roll number A1007, filmed in 1973 at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.
Zinsser's statement is found on the last page of the report:
47. A man named ZINSSER, a Flak rocket expert, mentioned what he noticed one day: In the beginning of Oct, 1944 I flew from Ludwigslust (south of Lubeck), about 12 to 15 km from an atomic bomb test station, when I noticed a strong, bright illumination of the whole atmosphere, lasting about 2 seconds.
48. The clearly visible pressure wave escaped the approaching and following cloud formed by the explosion. This wave had a diameter of about 1 km when it became visible and the color of the cloud changed frequently. It became dotted after a short period of darkness with all sorts of light spots, which were, in contrast to normal explosions, of a pale blue color.
49. After about 10 seconds the sharp outlines of the explosion cloud disappeared, then the cloud began to take on a lighter color against the sky covered with a gray overcast. The diameter of the still visible pressure wave was at least 9000 meters while remaining visible for at least 15 seconds.
50. Personal observations of the colors of the explosion cloud found an almost blue-violet shade. During this manifestation reddish colored rims were to be seen, changing to a dirty-like shade in very rapid succession.
51. The combustion was lightly felt from my observation plane in the form of pulling and pushing.
52. About one hour later I started with an He 111 from the A/D at Ludwigslust and flew in an easterly direction. Shortly after the start I passed through the almost complete overcast (between 3000 and 4000 meter altitude). A cloud shaped like a mushroom with turbulent, billowing sections (at about 7000 meter altitude) stood, without any seeming connections, over the spot where the explosion took place. Strong electrical disturbances and the impossibility to continue radio communication as by lightning, turned up.
53. Because of the P-38s operating in the area Wittenberg- Mersburg 1 had to turn to the north but observed a better visibility at the bottom of the cloud where the explosion occurred (sic). Note: It does not seem very clear to me why these experiments took place in such crowded areas.

The town of Ludwigslust is not actually "south" of Lübeck, but south of Schwerin, in what was East Germany (hence, no US follow-up testing for radiation, etc.). Not an ideal place for such a test, but not ultra-populated in World War II.

So close. Time travelers must have been active in the early 40s and changed a few things.

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or not. But that kind of got me thinking. How many of you have heard of the Mandela affect? The reason I ask is this got me thinking that things have changed with our timeline.
Some of you may remember this logo:

Yet according to the company, that logo has never existed.
Am I just off my rocker here, or does anyone else not remember this logo with the cornucopia in it?

This is a new one for me. There were reports of a squib explosion in Poland. The site shows radioactivity and uranium present. I would think there should be some surface evidence if they actually managed a good fission event. Still, too little and too late.

They call it the "Mandela affect" after woman an some of her friends clearly remember Mandela dying in the early 90s while still in prison. I'm not exactly sure how to explain it, but I clearly remember the Cornucopia being in the Fruit of the loom logo as a kid.

Fruit of the Loom logo. If they are saying it never existed, they are lying. Deliberate gaslighting of the population?

Agreed, I know for a FACT that logo with the Cornucopia existed. My brother even remembers it. I remember it changed in the early to mid 90's and just thought it was a typical logo change that most companies were doing at that time.

It's not just Fruit of the Loom. The point? To sow confusion and doubt in the masses.
Most of what we think we "know" comes through one or two sources, disseminated out to dozens more, then hundreds. It only seems like there are lots of sources. I contend a massive disinformation campaign continues to occur, at all levels and in all facets of society. "Little" things like this have phenomenal effect at causing unease in people ("I know it happened, I remember it clearly." "No, you don't, you're just imagining things.").
