BELCHERTOWN – A Hampshire College student denied physically assaulting a visiting basketball player over what the student called “cultural appropriation.”

Carmen Figueroa, 20, of Brooklyn, New York, pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct, assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown Friday morning.

The charges stem from a Jan. 27 incident at Hampshire College’s Robert Crown Center. According to court documents, Figueroa approached members the Central Maine Community College women’s basketball team and ordered them to remove braids from their hair citing “cultural appropriation.”

Oxford Reference defines cultural appropriation as the “taking over of creative or artistic forms, themes, or practices by one cultural group from another. It is in general used to describe Western appropriations of non‐Western or non‐white forms, and carries connotations of exploitation and dominance.”

When the players did not comply and began to leave the building, Figueroa allegedly initiated a fight towards one of the players. At the same time, another unknown Hampshire College student pulled the hair of a visiting women’s basketball player causing her to fall to the ground, according to court documents.

While the player was on the ground, police allege that Figueroa kicked and stepped on the player causing injury.

Another Maine player attempted to protect her fallen teammate but Figueroa “grabbed her by the head and threw her to the ground,” according to court documents.

The second player suffered scratches and other marks.

As coaches broke up the fight, Figueroa attempted to punch at the Maine students and “was screaming swears and racial slurs,” according to court documents.

The number listed for Figueroa in court documents was temporarily disconnected and an email went unreturned Friday.

Hampshire College confirmed that Figueroa is a student at the college on Friday, but declined to comment on whether she was or is currently on the school’s women’s basketball team.

“The College has no comment on an active district court proceeding,” John Courtmanche, a college spokesman, wrote in an email.

Figueroa was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled to return to court in May.

Racially motivated attack against Central Maine women’s basketball players

On January 27th, Figueroa, who appears to be a very large Latina, ordered a white member of the Central Maine Community College women’s basketball team to remove her hair braids. She claimed the braids were “cultural appropriation.” The girl refused.

Then Figueroa, and an unnamed accomplice, allegedly assaulted two of the Central Maine players, while Figueroa yelled racial slurs.

Figueroa was released on a PR bond and scheduled to return to court in May. Figueroa is not exactly oppressed. She recently went on vacation to Thailand.

The attacked occurred at Hampshire College, where the Central Maine Community College women’s basketball team had a game that day. Figueroa is a student at the college. The college has refused to comment, and appears to have taken no action against her.

If you go to the college website, it looks more like an SJW summer camp than an actual college. “Cultural appropriation” and racial animosity towards white people were likely taught to Figueroa at the college.

The front page of the college website includes rhetoric about social justice, Islamophobia, community activism, “Latinx” activism, and more.

One of the Central Maine players is a white female from the United Kingdom. She has long flowing hair in her facebook pictures, but it is braided during games.

These 'colleges' need to be raided and the 'teachers' physically taken out and incarcerated. Political correctness is no longer politically correct and clearly has been recognized to have made a historically negative mental impact causing psychological damage within today's youth. Swift and decisive action must be taken to remove this scourge from our education system and to punish those responsible for its propagation.

Dramatic video captured fists flying in an apparent argument over a parking space near the 8400 block of South Western Avenue on Sunday.

A number of women were seen fighting when one woman jumped into a white SUV.

The driver revved the engine and the video showed her smashing into a silver SUV, nearly taking off the passenger door.

The vehicles collide several more times as they maneuver back and forth in the small parking lot.

The SUVs headed into the street where the white SUV was spotted delivering one more crunching blow to the silver SUV. The white SUV then mowed down a fire hydrant, sending a geyser of water into the air.

ABC7 reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department who said a report of the incident has yet to be filed.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was notified about the broken fire hydrant and crews quickly responded to fix the geyser.

A couple of things. First, who wants to bet those newer model vehicles are either leased or being financed, which means those sheboons are wrecking vehicles that they don't actually own. Second (back to the thread topic), white people invented cars, and black people using cars is cultural appropriation, so black people need to be banned from using cars.

Yaya Shabazz, who works at a local casino, now claims that she feared for her life and was only trying to escape. She told KTLA that it all began when the silver SUV rear-ended her vehicle, not far from the laundromat. She said she assumed they were pulling into the parking lot to exchange insurance information, but instead, the two women in the silver SUV pulled her out of her car and attacked her. She claimed that one of them was armed with a hammer, adding to her terror. A man tried to break up the fight, and Shabazz said hopped in her SUV to leave the perilous scene. And when she heard her back window shatter, she decided to really hightail it out of there.

"I wasn't trying to hurt anyone. I was just trying to get away," Shabazz told NBC 4. "I hear a loud noise. I think it's a gun, they're saying they're going to hurt me and I'm just trying to get away."
