As previewed earlier tonight, the US has launched air strikes against Syria, with NBC reporting that under instructions from President Trump, US ships have launched 60 Tomahawk missiles, striking Syria. NBC adds that only tomahawks missiles fired, no fixed wing aircraft involved, for now.

The strike early Friday morning in Syria targeted hangars, planes and fuel tanks at one Syrian military airfield, according to a U.S. official. The U.S. attacked with about 60 Raytheon Co. Tomahawk cruise missiles fired from two Navy destroyers.

The attack occurred while Trump was at his Florida estate after a dinner with Chinese President Xi Jinping, where they were to discuss what to do about North Korea’s nuclear program and U.S.-China trade disagreements. Traveling to Mar-a-Lago from Washington on Thursday, Trump spoke to reporters aboard Air Force One about Assad, saying “what happened in Syria is a disgrace to humanity. And he’s there, and I guess he’s running things. So something should happen.”
It was not immediately clear if Trump's action had been precleared with Putin in advance.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US President Donald Trump's decision to conduct the Thursday missile strike against a Syrian airfield was a mistake that will escalate tensions with Russia and lead to more civilian casualties, at the same time jeopardizing the investigation into the reported chemical attack, US Congressman Tulsi Gabbard said in a statement."This escalation is short-sighted and will lead to more dead civilians, more refugees, the strengthening of al-Qaeda and other terrorists, and a direct confrontation between the United States and Russia — which could lead to nuclear war," Gabbard stressed on Thursday.

On Thursday night, the United States launched over 50 Tomahawk cruise missiles at the Syrian military airfield in Ash Sha’irat, located about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from the city of Homs. Trump said the attack was a response to the alleged chemical weapon use in Syria's Idlib on Tuesday, which Washington blames on the Syrian government.

Gabbard warned that because of the US missile strike in Syria, it could now be impossible to determine whether Syrian President Bashar Assad is indeed responsible for the alleged chemical weapon use.

"If President Assad is indeed guilty of this horrible chemical attack on innocent civilians, I will be the first to call for his prosecution and execution by the International Criminal Court. However, because of our attack on Syria, this investigation may now not even be possible," Gabbard said.

The likelihood of a direct impact to my family & I is very, very low, but I will not deny I am highly concerned about a "response" from Fat Boy, possibly against a California/West Coast city/cities.

A Tomahawk strike won't cut it for taking out Fat Boy's missiles and warheads. The attack on Syria was a clusterfuck, with no real damage. 60 missiles employed, 1 wouldn't fire, and only 23 of the remainder actually making it to target.

If Fat Boy's nukes are the real threat the Federal regime claims, then any means to get rid of them is legit. If I were in charge, I'd employ tactical nuclear weapons, and then simply claim the Nork nukes "detonated" when we launched "conventional" weapons. B-52 nuclear cruise missile strikes (AGM-86Bs), preferred.

A danger, however, and possibly intentional, would be to use faggy-level weaponry on the Norks, and let Fat Boy attack Seoul, Japan, and America. Seoul would be devastated by Nork artillery, even without the use of gas or nukes. Missiles would do tremendous damage to Japan, and, if nuclear, well, you know the potential effect on US targets.

We will know Trump's real intentions once the North Koreaa campaign begins. If it is not overwhelmingly devastating, essentially a simultaneous decapitation strike and complete neutralization of Nork nuke capability, it will be clear that a lasting, wider theater of war is desired.
