Forewarned is forearmed.

Seems like we are on the verge of a collapse of some magnitude. Businesses are operating like rats jumping off a sinking ship. They are not concerned about building customer service and good will anymore.

My recent experience with ripoff long term care insurance and even down to my experience ordering a pair of shoes on the web. The companies look like they are really far removed from caring about the quality of their product or service and have loads of tricks to rip you off. Many retailers are on the verge of bankruptcy but that condition is hidden from customers and the company is employing every trick in the book to grab your money before they close their doors.

I have heard that used cars may be a place to find good deals very soon and even housing bubble is about to burst in certain areas. Just be careful because even the seemingly big bargain "low" price deal you get on one of these big items is still a calculated rip off, even prices of foreclosed homes.

Read the fine print.
Ask questions.
Make it clear that you have to know the full cost before they begin the work.

dachs - is that video worth it? looks like click bait babble. i will play along and mention this --

items that look like what you want to buy, but fail in actual usage. things as simple as a fan...or a pen....or a radio....a toaster oven....a can opener....channel locks...etc

this very popular corporate strategy is to make something as cheap as possible that will fool you into thinking that it's legit when you are considering buying it. they pay NO attention to the thing actually working as expected once you get it home

I listened to see if he had anything of substance to impart and I thought he did and I learned a few things. Overall, I think it made me just more aware. One thing I disagreed with him about was how you really have no choice and have to go ahead and sign up for cable because it is the only cable company available. People should ditch cable altogether.

I ordered some shoes from Maryland SQuare catalog online. This company is part of a set of companies, another being Auditions and another being Figi and I am sure there are more. I ordered the shoes and about 9 days later they said my shoe was not available but it should be sent to me in about ten more days. I called to cancel and asked to be sent an email notifying me my order was canceled. They said they did not normally send an email but I held for a supervisor and did get an email of cancel. It just looked to me like they want to keep a charge on my credit card for an extended period of time without sending me the merchandise. It was a new catalog and a new item and I ordered right away so it is odd that it was presented as available and then had to be backordered.

There were several other odd little things that happened in placing the order on the website but it just seemed like they are scrambling to scrape up every little penny they can by putting charge on card and then making delays. I have noticed this with several mail ordered items and sites. I could be wrong about these surprise delays' purpose. It seems such a small amount of money they could be getting but maybe a higher average balance as credits on their books benefits them in some ways when many orders are involved.

People should ditch cable altogether.

It is immoral to financially support Hollywood (including subscribing to cable or satellite Talmudvision). If someone "must" have Hollywood "content" (hopefully older stuff, before the degeneracy was overt), then file sharing is the way to go. So-called "piracy" is not only not "immoral," but is an act of resistance against an abominable criminal enterprise doing the work of Satan. Subscribe to a good, trustworthy-with-a-track-record foreign VPN, and download to one's desire.

Nothing was listed in print so I did not click link. (thought it might be a rip off)

Thanks for the post though.
