mention on radio triggered this post -

anyone else been confronted with employee wellness program? ours (giant oil) is tied to the company insurance. the camel's nose is under the tent - companies will be able to coerce whatever they want - vaccines, doctor visits, scrips, etc, etc, etc

These "behavior management" plans will become mandatory for all. Either corporate or, eventually, government compelled. And they'll make you wear a Fitbit type device, as well.

In the interim, you will be allowed to not cooperate, in exchange for higher premiums/fees. Eventually, no more.

What you have to look forward to:

that's exactly what i'm seeing. they've strapped fitbits onto all of my coworkers. they also make them jump through a series of hoops every year to keep their insurance. when they rolled it out i dug into the outfit that was managing the thing and ended up at rockefeller foundation.

i refuse to join the thing so they fck me good on my insurance cost/coverage. i am the ONLY one. everybody else sold out...even the ones that i educated about rockefeller foundation....the main actor in eustace mullins' 'murder by injection' book

no doubt they will add more and more intrusive aspects to the thing in the coming years. no bueno

I agree with you, and while the technology like fitbits may have been originally developed due to consumer demand, they only become mandatory under a repressive government.

My employer (Tech company) offers a wellness program but it's separate from insurance. They provide each employee a lump sum to draw from, it can be gym membership, gym clothes, equipment, even vitamins (as long as a doctor recommended it) and you get reimbursed up to the amount allotted to you each year.

However you are taxed on the amount you receive as its considered a "gift", from what it looks like.

Don't we already know about these scams of employers, insurance companies, "wellness plans", and banksters?

Listen to your inner self and use the web to learn what is out there for you to take care of yourself as only you know best.

You know... This is weird.

I went to a heart doctor about 2 years ago and had many tests. All is okay, except my cholesterol was hovering around 210..

Anyway, I never go to doctors unless I am ill. So The heart doctor asked if I have a regular doctor to which I replied negative.

She said to find a "Internal Medicine Doctor. I did this.

So when my records are made available, to which I can also look at on-line, I noticed the recommendations for my age.

Colonoscopy.

Some type of booster shot. Since I was born before 1965... Yes, Old, I know.

But the weird thing is this: "Mood Disorder Test". It said I should have done this in 1972.

I thought, "What the hell is this and why would my doctor recommend this?"

Upon research, I found it is basically "Bipolar Screening". I laughed to myself.

I looked the questions and somehow answering 13 questions, it can be determined if I am bipolar or not.

After reading the questions, I quickly observed that everyone on the planet must be bipolar.

These people are crazy. I will refuse of course, but who could even consider such a thing.

So I questioned why would my doctor would do this and I was told that statistically, persons with Bipolar are at a higher risk for heart related problems. That is why it was recommended.

I am sure if things continue the way they are, you will either comply or be forced out.

Just FYI

Exactly. I do this!! This is why I do not take the Statins that was recommended. I researched this and found out that the cure is in likelihood worse than the disease.

The most positive thing we can do is use our sharing of personal information with each other, but the info shared can be of a positive or negative nature. We can sort of just tell people where to look or what to look in to. But they have to carry it from there and do there risk / reward assessment.

Regarding bi-polar test being just questions on a paper that produce the "diagnosis" and ICD code, I would comment that there is something physical, and even hereditary, about having this condition with some bipolars. I know that it is managed by testing lithium levels in the blood and adjusting medications accordingly. but maybe testing lithium by a blood test before diagnosis is not done these days -- just not sure about that.

If you have bad bi-polar, you and your reasonably educated relatives and friends will know it. You can't hold a job. Can't get along. Can't hold a relationship etc. The steps you take after you know you have the problem need to be well thought out. There are some supplements over the counter that help and diet helps as well as other lifestyle choices can help.

But one "good" thing about getting the diagnosis when you do indeed know you have something real going on in you, is that you can get qualified for social security disability or maybe some other government free programs of various kinds. You need helpful advice and guidance from friends. Try to stay out of system if possible as you will get the opposite of that once you are in the system.

the one my coworkers are in make them earn so many points every year to keep the insurance. megacorp will give them the choice of about 7 or 8 options to earn their points. if they do 4-6 of them they will have earned their points for the year.

the tasks are assigned varying point values. the largest point value is to go to doctor and be put through an extensive physical and report the results to rockefeller/megacorp. others include personal interviews and counseling sessions by phone (30 minutes to one hour), attending megacorp classes taught by company nurse, doing computer based videos + tests, doing so many 'steps' with fitbit monitoring and upload results on the computer. they also push the flu shot HARD every year -- dont think they give points on that (yet)

bonus - if wife is covered on your insurance....she has to do it too. mine was pissed when i opted out....until i gave her all the stuff and told her to get started on hers AND mine. she looked at it for about 5 minutes and surrendered in shame :)

If those types of stipulations were put on the wellness program I have I'd say fuck that and wouldn't even use it.
