Well said. The lack of ethics and personal responsibility that comes with the LoA is quite frightening. Some of the most heartless people I have ever encountered have been die-hard LoA proponents. The LoA doesn’t work but that much is certain… I hang my head in shame because I actually paid for The Secret… but I quickly realised it was utter rubbish. Sadly, it’s easy for New Age to attract not just greedy people with no spiritual foundation but also people who are weak in their faith and consider God to be some kind of fairy God-father who is just sitting around all day long, waiting to fulfil the whims and wishes of faithful devotees. There is a difference between being childlike and childish. To be childlike in one’s trust of God is to BE the magic… to be childish is to see God/the Universe as one’s personal slot machine. Possibly, the saddest part about LoA people is realising how sad, lonely and isolated these people must feel deep down, since everyone around them are just puppets in the universe of their own making.

I dispensed with the satanic garbage of the "law of attraction" after one of the demonic kooks in "The Secret" came out and said that child victims of sexual abuse "choose" to "attract" that to their lives.

It was one of the key steps to my return to Christianity, as well. And I thank God for the opportunity to see what "the New Age" is really about.

If we are born with illness and in poverty, we are given choices. Yet the same, if we are born with perfect physical health and a pile of money waiting for us at 18, we also have choices. Not surprisingly, the one closer to God, on average, will be the former.
