Back in the day there was this man with a Telescope muh thingy. He spent many hours, days, weeks, months, years? looking through his muh thingy at Mars and making illustrations of all these "canals" that could be seen on the surface. Apparently these drawings were used to plot where to send probe ships to land on Mars. It was supposedly talked about by Government and NASA or what ever it was before it was called NASA. Then suddenly there was no more mention of these canals. There were no more depictions of these canals.

Heard about it Here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0pZSyloUMg) and possibly here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzrzmLNuRQk). These are 1st hour of 2 hour shows. 2nd hour is subscriber. I don't know if mentioned in hour 1 or 2 but I'm sure he was mentioned in both shows. If I get time I'll try and re-listen. See if I can get the name. Otherwise anyone else heard that story?

I think even Disney included them in some of their programs they did on traveling to outer space. Seems strange. I don't recall the mans name but was hearing about him very recently. I believe I have seen his drawings before, both on the Internet and before the internet..... possibly in school books or something. Not sure. Don't think I've imagined it. Possibly from the late 1800's to early 1900's.

It's worth pondering that, if there are planets in a solar system and if they can be landed on, perhaps they have already been landed on. Perhaps they have been strip mined and all that is left is all we can see there AND perhaps that is our fate here? Eventually. TPTB are just an intergalactic mining corporation. We are just the minions that make it all happen. Sounds like Dune.
