Home robbery suspect shot along west side of La Porte
On Friday May 5th La Porte Police Dispatch received a call from a home owner in the 8700 block of Venture Lane in reference to a Robbery.
The incident took place after the home owner’s daughter responded to a social media site that had an item posted for sale. The item was then brought to the home owner’s residence, but the suspect presenting the item began to demand money, while brandishing a handgun. The home owner was quickly able to retrieve a handgun from an adjacent room and fired at the suspect, striking him in the abdomen. The suspect then fled in an awaiting get-away vehicle.
Approximately 20 minutes after the suspect fled from the La Porte scene, Houston Police Department was contacted regarding a deceased male with an injury to the abdomen, also wearing clothing which matched the La Porte suspect. The subject was then transported to a Houston- area hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.
La Porte investigators are currently working with the Houston Police Department to confirm if the deceased suspect is the same suspect involved in the La Porte home invasion and locate a remaining get-away driver who is still at-large.
