Does the phrase 'limited liability' or 'no fault' ring any bells? Check them out. While doing so check out 'common law pleading','code pleading' and 'notice pleading'. Now blend in the idea of 'plea bargaining' and you get an idea of the lay of the land (as opposed to the law of the land).

Except in cases of rape...when you are accused of raping a woman, or, when you accuse the IRS of raping you.
