years and years ago, ponce posted a thread about some little device you could hook up to deep cycle batteries that made them usable, basically forever. i can't fin it or remember what they were called. some little dealie you hooked up to the posts. anyone know what i am talking about? there was a big thread about it.

If the application is mobile, many people use solar panels to trickle charge.

it was some copper thing you connected to the battery and then the cables/leads connected to the copper thing instead of the battery posts. i think it was copper.

Maybe look at a reconditioner desulfator, which is the only thing that may help extend a battery's life.

There are smart trickle chargers for batteries these days. I looked into it for my solar batteries.
They desufate and such, like a real solar charge controller, but cheaper.

Desulfating a battery right now.

Working on a 7 month battery that was left dead as a door nail. Flushed the thing 6 times so far and getting black rinse water out of the deal. Going to rinse a couple more times and add acid and see if I can get life out of the thing.

Long ago I used a deep cycle battery in a car that had overkill stereo components and I swear that battery was 5X better than a conventional car battery. It was also old and dead but after reviving it I couldn't kill it.
