"for the love of money" strikes again... have you noticed that every time money offers a bit of freedom (one step forward), it also allows ((them)) to control us more using the same tool -- and that we make 2 or 3 steps backward ? Exactly why we are in this mess

Watch, pay or go away: Google to enable publishers to charge users with ad blockers
3 June 2017 GMT

A new Google tool will let website publishers charge visitors using ad blockers for removing the ads, or force them to turn off their ad blockers and view the ads. The feature is said to be designed to help publishers who fear for their slumping ad revenue.

A new extension called “Funding Choices” provides the publisher with the tool to embed into their website. When a user with an ad blocker visits the site, he is prompted to either to make a payment to remove the ads on the site, or to disable the ad blocker and proceed. Choosing neither of the options means one cannot view the website.

The company is said to receive 10 percent of the fee, which will be set by a publisher individually.’

i've run into some sites that wont let me view the content if I don't allow their ads. I just exit out of there and move on to the next site

That's fine, not like we need to read such shit anyway. They need us; we don't need them.

And besides, AdBlock Plus and others will simply figure out how to deny them the ability to recognize they're being blocked.

Any piece of software can be hacked and overcome. Once Google releases this millions of hackers across the world will start writing code to defeat it and the torrents will be available for download the following week
