They don't make money throwing that shit away. It got a quick rinse and went back in the case. No one is protecting you and me....NO ONE!

People look at me funny when I take products from the back of the cooler...usually two items back, at least. NEVER the front one or two. The common problem is that someone takes it, carries it around the store for awhile, and puts it back, or, worse, puts it on a shelf, and a staff member puts it back hours later. And then there's this problem...

I worked supermarkets for several years. This is what I do also. Applies to fresh produce as well. Always dig around in the back, and wash that produce!

Cooler = perishable, with sell-by date. So I look at the dates of the front vs back of the shelf, and grab my specimen based on the farthest out sell-by date.... which tends to be near the back, coz that's how the shelf-stockers do it, for obvious reasons. I thought that was common sense?!

I never even considered the notion that the front end specimens may have been schlepped around the store for awhile, abandoned & gone warm, then returned to the cooler; much less that it may have been cradling some dindu's junk for awhile before his/her getting busted & its being returned to the cooler! :o

That sense is no longer common. Routinely, I find that the newest stuff is in the front. Actually, a combination of lack of common sense, and laziness.

The newest stuff is in the front because the niggers they hire to stock the cases are lazy fucks and don't rotate the perishable product, which is what they're supposed to do.

'Rotation is our salvation' used to be a saying in the supermarket industry back when people cared!
