WW1 wasnt because of "just" an assassination. That assassination was more like an excuse.
Germany started the series of conflicts with the Franco Prussian War 1870 to 1871 where Germany (then Prussia) took parts of France unprovoked. The Napoleonic wars are then were almost a 100 years old.
The only reason the US decided to get into it was because the US at the time was supplying Britain who decided to declare war on Germany. Germany responded with U-boats sinking US merchant ships supplying Britain.
Germany didnt lose any land from the WW1 from what I can gather....they were forced to give up what they took.
Germany had no right in WWII to go regain what they stole in the first place by invading France (mean while Poland, on the other side of Germany from France still has no reason to be invaded by Hitler).
