Dallas will soon be one of the first major cities to have a trio of women leading its top law enforcement agencies.

But all three hope that someday their gender won’t be news.

“This job is about skill. It’s about the ability to lead,” said Ulysha Renee Hall, Dallas' future police chief. “I bring that. I don’t think it matters what gender I am.”

When she starts in September, Hall will be Dallas’ first female top cop. She joins Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez and Dallas County District Attorney Faith Johnson.

City of San Antonia had a job fair in Dallas for police officers offering an extremely high sign on bonus and a higher salary per year.

The pension fund was the kicker. Dallas no longer has a competitive "Retirement Pension Fund". The one they have is probably lower on funds from what they actually say.

A person I know retired at 53 after 25 years of service at the City of Dallas and gets about $4200 per month. He worked for the water department and didn't come legally into this country to begin with. He married into legality back when you could.

My cousin, a totally different story, worked at the Sears Distribution Center in Dallas approaching her 30 years of service/work. 6 months before she was to retire, BOOM, a massive lay off. The lay-off was aimed at those approaching retirement. Needless to say, the only thing she got was a screwing. I don't buy anything at Sears anymore.
