After a challenge by the ACLU, a federal judge ruled that to take our permit for Lee Park was a civil rights violation. Our permit was restored.

Everything was set up in Lee Park, we started arriving, there were around 4-5,000 people gathered according to media reports.

There were very few antifa, but the cops herded people in their direction, so people could be attacked and pepper-sprayed. Everyone got pepper-sprayed.

Antifa were getting their asses kicked.

People attempted to reorganize in various locations.

Every location where people attempted to reorganize was visited by cops threatening people will arrest.

People kept getting split up by the cops, and so were attacked.

Then someone crashed a car.

This was an insane mess.

I have never seen anything like this, I don’t think it’s ever happened in American history.

I printed one fuzzy picture of a cross burning, but back then (late 1970s) we didn’t have digital cameras – we only had black & white film. We could push that film to its light-gathering limit and still have only a blurry image of those cross burnings.
They really were spectacular, however. We are not talking about a cross made of 8-foot lumber from Lowes. These were crosses made from custom-sawed lumber – 30 – 40 – perhaps a 50-foot high single piece of lumber.
The atmosphere was always scary – dark – with a cloud of oppressive evil hovering over it. The Klansmen in their white sheets and pointy hats. The crowd carrying baseball bats and other home-made clubs. The air thick with cigarette and cigar smoke.
And all of it was protected by the cops. You knew not to step out of line. Heck, I was fearful to even try to photograph it.
But those days are gone. The last cross burning was somewhere between Warrenton, VA and Charlottesville around 1980 - that’s 37 years ago. That’s also the last time I’ve seen any Klansman dressed in his sheet.
Until yesterday. Why suddenly is love of one’s nation suddenly associated with a Nazi swastika? Who would do that?

And since when has that Nazi symbol been associated with the flag of the Confederacy? Who would do that? And since when is any of this to be associated with the NRA? Not in my lifetime! Real hunters would never go around waving assault rifles in threatening fashion. That’s not what the NRA is about. You know right away that this screams agent provocateur.

A stunned Samantha Bloom, the mother of Charlottesville car crash suspect James Alex Fields Jr., learned of the deadly incident on camera. Bloom was visibly stunned by the news, as an AP reporter peppered her with questions. Fields may have misrepresented the event to his mother, who was surprised to learn it was organized around white supremacy, not President Trump.

I mean, I try to stay out of his political views. You know, we don’t, you know, I don’t really get too involved, I moved him out to his own apartment, so we — I’m watching his cat.”
Bloom was informed by The AP reporter that the rally was indeed organized by white nationalists. “I thought it had something to do with Trump. Trump’s not a white supremacist,” she said.
“He had an African-American friend so …,” she said before her voice trailed off.
In an interview with The Toledo Blade, she said, “I told him to be careful. [And] if they’re going to rally to make sure he’s doing it peacefully.”
Bloom told The AP she didn’t even know about the incident until she spoke with the AP reporter. She said she was indeed surprised with the deadly outcome. “Yeah, that he would run his car into a group of people for… I’m really not clear on…”
The AP reporter further inquired into how much she knew about her son’s political views.

In 29 years of, first, being "active," then, later, now, observing the so-called "movement," I have never seen any rally accomplish anything worth a damn. Dr. William Pierce avoided public gatherings, personally, and by policy, and only tolerated local NA units doing public presence in a very narrow, exceptionally well-defined manner. When through our background check processes or from input of our community we identify and determine that there are those who would be pursuing behavior on the platform that would be antithetical to the Airbnb Community Commitment, we seek to take appropriate action including, as in this case, removing them from the platform.


The quick context about this white supremacist rally is that it’s being put on by people affiliated with a site called The Daily Stormer. They’re organizing a stay-in and are attempting to host some after-parties at some Airbnb listings.


In the post below, one member writes that they’ve “Taken over all of the large AirBnBs in a particular area” and have set up “Nazi Uber” and the “Hate Van.”

Some Airbnb members flagged the event, which led to Airbnb investigating and confirming that some users on the platform had booked listings for those white supremacist parties.

The crew heard a "very loud growl" before the helicopter made the hard landing about seven minutes into the flight, according to the report, which was first publicized by The Richmond Times-Dispatch and later reviewed by The Associated Press. It bounced once before coming to rest, resulting in "substantial damage," the report said.

Investigators concluded the accident was the result of "improper repair of an engine component by a repair facility, which resulted in a complete loss of engine power," the report said. Geller confirmed that the helicopter mentioned in the report is the same one that crashed Saturday.

The aircraft was fully repaired by Bell Helicopter, Geller said. A Bell Helicopter spokeswoman said the company was saddened by Saturday's deadly crash and was cooperating with the NTSB's investigation.

On Monday, the NTSB said there was no distress call from the helicopter in Charlottesville, which had been providing video to police of activities downtown before it left to lend support to a motorcade for Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe. Within two minutes there was a 911 call reporting the crash.

The Bell 407's vertical flight path was about 45 degrees when it descended into trees before catching on fire, the NTSB said. The tail boom separated from the main wreckage and became lodged in a tree. Lt. H. Jay Cullen, 48, and Berke M.M. Bates, who was one day shy of his 41st birthday, were killed. A preliminary report on the crash is expected to be available in a few weeks.

Matthew Robinson, an aviation safety expert who reviewed the NTSB report on the 2010 accident, said investigators can't rule anything out, but it's far too soon to say what may have caused Saturday's crash.

"The investigator has to be careful in not letting a hypothesis guide the investigation this early in the stage," said Robinson, a former official aircraft accident investigator for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps who's now with Robson Forensic. "Everything is game at this point, but it's so early."

That I agree 100% it is NOT the same car that the accused was photographed with. The paint doesn't match, racing stripes etc.

There are options with Dodge to get large sunroofs. The glossy color of the cars roof makes it difficult to spot.

I very well could be wrong and the lines I see could be reflections of the overhead power lines, but if they are they line up perfectly with the oversized sunroof option.

Flip through the images of that car. Looking at it from the outside you can't even tell that it has a sunroof. The only way you do is when they show it in the inside.

Apples and oranges. You posted a link to a late model very heavily optioned high end R/T Challenger, which is probably as high end as it gets for a Challenger (other than a Hellcat). The accused had a low end entry level Challenger with a V-6 that sold for ~$22k in 2010. So of course an upgraded high end model is going to have an upgraded (i.e. larger) sunroof. Not only that, you're asserting that the sunroof of car photoed at incident has a sunroof that extends to the structural breaks in the roof sheet metal on the sides (which most cars have now due to similar manufacturing processes) and you can clearly see from the interior shot of the car you posted a link to that even the larger sunroof on the recent model upgraded Challenger does not extend to the structural sheet metal breaks on the edges of the roof (like you're trying to say).

I thought Dick Morris in his daily one-hour "show" had some interesting comments to make about this event. Video will start play at that point.

I am no fan of his because he sounds like he really has his facts straight and knows how things work in inner workings of the government in D.C., but I also see several times where what he states is in direct contradiction to Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch and Jay Sekulow, White House legal counsel, and I trust them more than I trust Morris who has a rather poor track record of getting understandings correct.

Also, I admit my bias but I find his overt gayness with his pink and flowery decor for his show set to be a bit offensive, but still in this case he did seem to offer some valuable and balanced remarks about Charlottsville event.

After the horrendous clash between white supremacists and Antifa Communists in Charlottesville, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe (D) claimed that the police did not break up the fight because of the fact that the Neo-Nazis were so heavily armed that separating the groups would have been explosive.

During an interview (https://getcrookedmedia.com/pod-save-the-people-56bc42af53d) with Black Lives Matter activists DeRay McKesson, McAuliffe stated that the police had found weapons caches around the city, and that intervention would have created an even more violent situation,
“They had battering rams and, you know, we had picked up different weapons they had stashed around the city,” McAuliffe told Mckesson. “This was a powder keg. This was a very volatile situation. And I’ll once again say, I am very proud of our team on the ground. Nobody hurt except for those people hit by the car and you couldn’t stop that.”

In an interview with the New York Times, he even made the ridiculous claim that so many of them were armed with semi-automatic rifles, one would think they were an army. However, those comments were later edited out of the story.

So what’s the problem here? Those caches never existed, and the State Police directly contradicted McAuliffe’s claims.

A State Police Spokesperson told Reason Magazine (http://reason.com/blog/2017/08/16/virginia-state-police-say-they-didnt-fin) that the police did not find anything to which McAuliffe was referring:
McAuliffe’s comments were picked up by other news outlets and spread through social media. But Corinne Geller, a spokesperson for the Virginia State Police, says that no such stashes were found.

“The governor was referring to the briefing provided him in advance of Saturday’s rally and the extra security measures being taken by local and state police,” Geller tells Reason. “As a safety precaution in advance of August 12, such searches were conducted in and around Emancipation and McIntire Parks. No weapons were located as a result of those searches.”


McAuliffe also claimed that the police were underequipped to deal with the situation, but State Police once again directly contradicted the Governor’s claim.

“The governor was referencing the weapons and tactical gear the members of various groups attending the rally had on their persons. I can assure you that the Virginia State Police personnel were equipped with more-than-adequate specialized tactical and protective gear for the purpose of fulfilling their duties to serve and protect those in attendance of the August 12 event in Charlottesville.”

Geller made a similar statement to The Washington Free Beacon (http://freebeacon.com/national-security/virginia-state-police-say-not-outgunned-charlottesville-riot-despite-mcauliffe-claim/):
“No, the State Police did not have inferior equipment,” Geller told the Free Beacon on Monday. “Our personnel are equipped, and were equipped, with the necessary protective and tactical gear for their safety and, obviously, to protect those that were in attendance of the event.”


This is twice that the Governor has been directly contradicted by the State Police. And despite both times, McAuliffe still insists that the State Police were underequipped for the situation.

“If you see people yesterday walking down the street yesterday with semi-automatic rifles strapped to their body,” he said. “I mean, they had better armor than my State Police and National Guard had.”

State Police would not release the exact details of their armament to the press, but it’s hard to imagine a small group of racist protesters having better weaponry than the State Police and National Guard.
