An Amish farmer has been sentenced to six years in prison for selling herbal skin cream made from natural ingredients on his family farm – simply because he didn’t get approval from the Food and Drug Administration.

Mostly selling his local products through word of mouth, Samuel Girod used ingredients like chickweed, rosemary and peppermint to make natural skincare products for two decades before the government intervened. Writer Jordan Reimschisel joined Tuesday’s “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson” to talk about the latest example of ridiculous big government.

Girod, 57, is a father of 12 who was ordered to stop selling his three most popular salves in 2013, the Daily Beast reported. When FDA inspectors tried to look around his farm, Girod cited his Amish beliefs in an attempt to keep them from inspecting his skincare production. He was charged on 13 counts, including obstructing proceedings and failing to register with the FDA.

I would love to help heal people too but I don't enjoy being sodomized. So I will pass. 100 years ago, you could walk into any Pharmacy and be really treated and/or cured of your illness/disease using natural remedies. Such information about natural healing remedies have increased by many fold. However if you want to heal people today, you must (((OBEY))) and (((CONFORM))). There are two general schools of thought in Christendom: one, that violence must be avoided at all costs, and surrender to assault of any degree is Christ-like; two, that violence should be avoided, but those who do the work of the Devil may be resisted if Christ-like peacefulness does not work against them, relying largely on the Old Testament and Luke 22:36. The concept of "just war" stems from this second school.

Personally, I hold to the second position, that violence is to be avoided wherever possible, but those who willfully subject themselves to the Devil may be resisted, including with deadly force, if necessary in defense of life, home, and essential freedom. Not all Christians are called to be martyrs, especially when so many killings are no longer known or remembered factually (without supernatural influence, even Christ's death today would merely be a "lawful execution of a seditious insurgent").

Some Amish do indeed use firearms for hunting. Some also use very limited applications of electricity, including a community telephone.
