How many people are going to lose some or most of there retina eye sight?

Local gas station ordered 1000 from china for 5¢ each and sold them for 19.95 had 3 left when I stopped in today. I asked to check a pair out, wow these are total crap. loking at the flouresent lights they were kindof bright, cant amagine them in the sun tomorrow. The HIDs in the ceiling of the pump area were almost able to look at but still left spots on my eyes. I think this is going to be an interesting day tomorow. What you think?

What you think?

I think you should STAY INSIDE so that all those balloons filled with HIGHLY RESISTANT Bacteria, ready to be DUMPED on all those unsuspecting sheeptards (for "science") who have been CONNED to go outside in multitudes which will be TARGETS for this!!

I have no desire to look at the Sun during the eclipse. I've seen them before and frankly, looking directly at the Sun most anytime isn't too bright (pun intended). If I were in an area of totality I may glance for a bit but I won't have that opportunity from where I live

Regardless of the media coverage and hype for today's eclipse, you know there will be plenty of people who don't pay attention and get caught off guard by the darkening sky not knowing what the heck is going on. This morning on the talk radio show they were asking for ideas of silly things to tell these people, and by far the funniest one was the explanation that the government passed a new daylight savings law but nobody read the bill before they passed it so nobody noticed that they took the hour of daylight away in the middle of the day instead of the evening.

I bet there would be fair amount of doofuses out there stupid enough to believe this too!

Welders hood or lens would work fine. Not cutting glasses, unless ones use with plasma cutters...

I made out pretty good selling these eclipse glasses at a Liberal university, $5 bucks a piece. I sold over 1,000 of them!
I told them it's safe to look before, during and after.

Seeing headache complaints showing up. Looks like some of them might have looked the entire time or a duration longer than a few moments.

Just read there are a bunch of people in emergency due to massive headaches and "sand in their eyes". Tomorrow should be more interesting for sure.

They trusted their eyes to $3.99 "solar glasses" from amazon.com. Or worse, free from the local library, provenance unknown.

For The Eclipse, People Put Sunscreen On Their Eyeballs

https://www.forbes.com/sites/brucelee/2017/08/26/for-the-eclipse-people-put-sunscreen-on-their-eyeballs/#685d6cd05047

This is not the way you are supposed to use sunscreen. The directions on a sunscreen bottle typically do not say: 1. Open bottle 2. Squeeze some sunscreen on your fingers and hands. 3. Put on eyeballs. In fact, this is true for most things around you such as spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, or toothpaste. But read the article from WCMH Channel 4, an NBC affiliate in Columbus, Ohio, entitled "Patients treated for putting sunscreen in eyes during solar eclipse, report says."

It included a quote from Nurse practitioner Trish Patterson who told KRCR news station that: “One of my colleagues at moonlight here stated yesterday that they had patients presenting at their clinic that put sunscreen on their eyeball, and presented that they were having pain and they were referred to an ophthalmologist."

Folks, to view a solar eclipse, you can wear a pair of real solar eclipse glasses or make a pinhole projector. But don't put sunscreen on your eyeballs.
