The seed of the woman were the people Jesus was speaking to and the enemies he was speaking of were also the seed of the woman. I don't think he meant for them to love the edomite/canaanite/jews/ the seeds of the serpent, the enemies of God.

In Genesis 3:15 God said he would put hatred between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent and it's ok to hate them because God put that hatred there.

People get confused about "loving their enemies" but they should only love their fellow true Israelite enemies not the enemies of God. I think Bertrand Comparate had a good article on this but I can't locate it at the moment.
