The brother of Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock was stunned to learn Monday that his relative was the suspected perpetrator of the largest mass shooting in modern American history.

Paddock, 64, is from Mesquite, Nev., about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas and had been known to local law enforcement.

Eric Hudson Paddock of Orlando, Florida, said he had "no idea" why his brother committed the shooting.

Paddock said his brother was retired and was "just a guy" who went to the hotels, gambled, and went to shows.

“We are completely at a loss,” Eric Paddock said.

Paddock was a licensed pilot, who owned two planes. He also had a hunting license from Alaska.

It is believed he lived in a retirement community in Mesquite.

Police responded to reports of the shooting just after 10 p.m. (1 a.m. ET) in the Mandalay Bay Resort, Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said. Lombardo said Paddock shot and killed himself before police could reach him.

It is still not known what kind of weapon Paddock used, but officials said more than 10 rifles were recovered from his hotel room.

Officials were searching for Marilou Danley, whom they identified as a companion of the suspect, Lombardo said.

Just before 7 a.m. ET, police tweeted that they had "located the female person of interest." Lombardo said Danley was located out of the country and was not believed to be involved in the shooting. He added that Paddock was utilizing some of her identification.

Eric just appeared on CBS News and said his brother was not an avid gun collector. He had no idea where Stephen Paddock got automatic weapons ... no idea at all.

She and the shooter are said to be roommates or companions, though the precise nature of their relationship has not been made clear.

Police said Paddock had used Danley's slot card to gamble in the hotel, and that he was in Las Vegas for three days prior to Sunday's shooting.

Danley is believed to be an Australian citizen and previously lived on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia for more than a decade with her former husband, an Australian man, who has since passed away. She moved to the United States 20 years ago, according to one of her former neighbors who said she is originally from the Philippines, The Herald Sun reported.

Her now deleted Facebook page identified her as a 'proud mom and grandma who lives life to the fullest.'

Danley had described herself on her LinkedIn page as a 'gambling and casino professional' living in Reno, Nevada. That social media page also listed her as working as a 'high limit hostess' at Club Paradise, Atlantis Casino in Reno between 2010 and 2013, but does not list another job since that year.

Records show that Danley and Paddock lived together in a three-year-old, two-bedroom home on Babbling Brook Court in the tiny desert community of Mesquite, which is 80 miles north east of Las Vegas near the Arizona state border. Record show the property cost $396,000 (£297,554)

The shooter's brother, Eric Paddock, told CBS News that Danley was his brother's girlfriend and that he had met her 'three to four times.'

'They might have got married, but I don't think they're married. She's just his girlfriend,' Eric said. 'She's a nice lady, I've met her three or four times. She's got a Facebook page, she sends my mom cookies.'

Police were searching for the 62-year-old woman after Paddock was confirmed dead early in the investigation. A Hyundai Tucson vehicle understood to be owned by Danley was also found by police.

NBC News reported that Paddock was married and going through a divorce or somehow splitting up with his wife, though it was not clear who that woman is.

The gunman's brother Eric told DailyMail.com that there was 'absolutely no indication he could do something like this'.

Adding: 'He was just a guy. Something happened, he snapped or something, he was just a guy.

'He has no political affiliation, no religious affiliation, as far as we know. This wasn't a terror attack'.

Local media said the gunman had also previously lived in Reno, Nevada, California and Florida.

“My brother-in-law is detained under guard for things that he didn’t do,” said Hocutt, who is trying to gain public attention to get Paddock freed. “It’s a scam.”

Attempts by the Daily Breeze to contact officials with the Philippines National Police were unsuccessful during the last two weeks.

Reached on the telephone and through email, Paddock’s attorney Rex Dunlao Batay-An, said his client, Paddock, had strictly forbidden him from speaking about the case.

“The case is in the preliminary investigation before the Office of the City Prosecutor, “ Batay-An said.

A U.S. State Department official in Washington also declined to discuss the case.

“We are aware of the reports of the arrest of a U.S. citizen in the Philippines on Aug. 10,” the official said on background. “We stand ready to provide all possible consular services in cases where U.S. citizens are arrested abroad. We refer you to the Philippine authorities for questions regarding the case. Because of privacy considerations, we have no further comment.”

According to Filipino media reports, Paddock and his girlfriend stand accused of running a child prostitution and cybersex ring. An investigation opened after a 16-year-old girl told authorities that Paddock began molesting her when she was 13, and an 11-year-old girl said she was 8 when he started molesting her.

Authorities suspect Paddock abused up to eight other children, the reports said.

The reports said Paddock also managed a female escort service and cybersex company in Makati City that is under investigation.

Hocutt said it is all untrue, and blamed Paddock’s jilted girlfriend for making up the charges. The two operated a bar that ultimately failed.

“He was shuttling back and forth for 10 years trying to develop business opportunities over there,” Hocutt said. “The little girl he is accused of molesting — he has legal custody.”

Paddock took custody of the girl when he learned the former girlfriend had purchased her from her mother, Hocutt said.

“The allegation is the little girl was allowed to visit (the bar) and that the little girl was taken and pleasuring Harry. All of this is bogus,” Hocutt said.

Paddock was hospitalized when he suffered two angina attacks after his arrest and interrogation, Hocutt said.

Hocutt has elicited help from U.S. authorities and has gone to the Philippines himself to speak with Paddock. Hocutt is concerned about Paddock’s safety, and suspects authorities want to be paid off to release him.

“People have come by his door and made death threats,” Hocutt said.

Stephen Paddock, Las Vegas Suspect, Was a Gambler, a Cipher, a ‘Lone Wolf’

Sheriff Lombardo described Mr. Paddock as “lone wolf” who had smashed the window of the hotel with a hammer-like device before starting to fire on the crowd.

“It wasn’t evident that he had weapons in his room,” the sheriff said. “It has been determined that he had employees going to and fro from his room, and nothing nefarious was noticed.”

He said he last communicated with his brother when Stephen inquired about how the family had fared during Hurricane Irma, which struck Florida in September.

“He texted me to ask about my mom after the hurricane,” Eric Paddock said. “He sent her a walker.”

Christopher Sullivan, general manager of Guns & Guitars, a gun store in Mesquite, confirmed that Mr. Paddock bought three guns at his shop within the last year — a handgun and two rifles. All the purchases were legal and cleared routine federal screening, Mr. Sullivan said.

“The man does not have a criminal history,” he said of Mr. Paddock.

Mr. Sullivan, who said he had been contacted by the F.B.I. and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, declined to provide detailed descriptions of the guns Mr. Paddock bought. “We have cooperated with local and federal authorities,” he said.

He described the area as “just a regular neighborhood” and added that nothing was “out of the ordinary” when police searched the home on Monday. The spokesman said some weapons and ammunition were found in the house but would not specify the type or quantity.


Mr. Paddock’s ex-wife, who now lives near Los Angeles, told the Los Angeles police that they had divorced 27 years ago after being married six years. They had no children.

“He seemed normal, other than that he lived by gambling,” Ms. Judy told FloridaToday. “ He was very open about that. First time we ever met him, he handed us the key to the house and said, ‘Hey, would keep an eye on the house, we’re only going to be here every now and then.’ ”

Lockheed Martin, the aerospace contracting company created by a 1994 merger, confirmed that he worked for one of its predecessor companies from 1985 to 1988. Lockheed Martin did not identify which company Mr. Paddock worked for specifically. The company said it was cooperating with law enforcement.”

Mr. Paddock’s father, Benjamin Patrick Paddock, had a troubled history. He was convicted in 1961 of committing a series of bank robberies, and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He escaped from La Tuna federal prison in 1968, and was on the F.B.I.’s “Top Ten” most wanted list, through most of the 1970s, according to someone familiar with the investigation.

News accounts from the time said that Benjamin Paddock “employed violence in attempting to evade arrest, and has been diagnosed as being psychopathic, with possible suicidal tendencies.” He was recaptured in 1978 in Oregon, where he was running a bingo parlor.

Benjamin Paddock was also convicted in Illinois in 1946 on 10 counts of auto theft and five counts of running a confidence game.

I've watched gambling channels on youtube where rich folks play slots in the weekends and all of them are very aware that they wont get their money back.. they do it for fun they say and they can afford to lose because they make money running a company, from investments etc, none of them are so stupid that they think they can make money from it.

I think you are on to it here. He doesn't seem to have any motivation and it seems totally out of character for this man. One remote possibility could be that his girlfriend was a Muslim from Indonesia, and she got him to see "the errors of his sinful life" of drinking and gambling, and turned him into a Muslim. But it could also be that this message from the from the ISIS news agency that he converted to Islam was generated by a CIA insider to frame him to the crime in the eyes of many.

It just seems impossible that one man could do this much carnage in such a short time period alone, from the 33rd floor no less. He warned users to stay away from any gatherings of large groups of people in the Vegas or nearby Henderson areas. Stating that he had insider knowledge of what he referred to as a “high incident project” that was set to occur soon.

While the poster was ignored at the time, since nothing seemed to occur on the 12th. The fact this John wrote “I can’t guarantee anything will happen tomorrow but las vegas is on their minds,” seems almost frightening now that just a few weeks later the largest mass shooting in American history has occurred at this very location. If we even consider the idea there could be any truth to such a plot in the first place, its not really all that unreasonable to believe the organizers could have simply adjusted there schedule by a few weeks. This could have been done for a myriad of reasons including just simply deciding the concert target eventually chosen served their purposes better. If true though even more troubling is the profit minded motivation behind the shooting that John went on to describe.

He states this “project” will be done with an endgame goal of passing new laws in Nevada regarding casino security. Making pricey new security screening machines mandatory for all guests. With even further more ambitious plans to follow suit in our schools and other public buildings if the public goes along with the casino machines easily enough. He also specifically names former head of the Department of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff and Casino owner and billionaire Sheldon Adelson as the two men set to profit most off the wave of new regulations set to spring up in response to the Vegas incident. It’s not all that unreasonable even to believe that Mr. Chertoff might seek to profit from a new security panic in the wake of Vegas. Given that the man has already been accused of abusing the public trust by raising security fears among average American’s in an attempt to sell his companies body scanners before, all the way back in 2010.

While the media paints the shooter Stephen Paddock as a lone wolf type and seems mystified over the possible motivations for a man, who the media and FBI at least keep claiming had no religious or strong political ideologies. A new theory has been emerging in the wake of the revelations above. With new information now breaking that the shooter was a rather active vegas gambler with recent large transactions to his name. Could Stephen have simply been threatened into doing this horrible act by some third party, in the name of paying off some possible large gambling debts? His family as well may have been threatened. If Stephen wasn’t acting of his own accord, then a number of the seemingly unexplained parts to this whole story do start making a lot more sense.

Even if this is all one giant coincidence. The fact does remain that people like Chertoff and those behind similar companies do stand to profit quite nicely in the months to come from the new security panic this incident will likely produce. That's not proper protocol for an active shooter situation. Any, all PD responding enter and go straight to the shooter immediately. There's no waiting for swat anymore. Everyone goes in, even alone as a first responding officer. That's how police are trained.

If any source said LVPD waited for swat during an active shooter situation, I'd call BS on that source.

Just checked again; now it's working after the age agreement page. I did see the first YT copy Josh posted; but then I was in the middle of leaving the new Liveleak link at some other comment threads; double checked it, and got the experience I told of above. I would've expected more spatter, mist and material from a headshot covering the casings. From my experience impacting orthopedic components home in the OR, the walls often need to be cleaned after a ortho case. To me, it looks like he was placed down after being shot, then the area staged. Not my area of expertise though.

Shooter in bloody Vegas gun massacre was longtime federal agent

Stephen Paddock, the Las Vegas shooter who killed 59 people at a country music festival Sunday night, worked over a 10-year period as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, an IRS agent and a defense auditor.

A spokeswoman for the federal Office of Personnel Management told the Associated Press Tuesday that Paddock’s employment included two years as a mail carrier from 1976 to 1978.

That was followed by a six-year stint with the Internal Revenue Service until 1984. And then he worked as a defense auditor for about 18 months.

The latest revelation suggests the U.S. government should have an extensive file on its former employee, Stephen Paddock, who not only worked directly for the government for nearly a decade but then worked another year-and-a-half for federal weapons contractor Lockheed Martin.

With his institutional knowledge of how the federal bureaucracy works, Paddock was anything but the typical mass shooter. He would have been able to cover his tracks in the planning stages of his attack.

The Islamic State, or ISIS, has doubled down on its claim of responsibility for the attack, saying Paddock had converted to Islam in recent months and become a “soldier of the caliphate.”

But given the rapidly degrading status of the Islamic State, some analysts believe it could be entering a new phase where it is willing to risk credibility in its propaganda message in exchange for a short term boost in its prestige among Islamic terrorists worldwide.

In other news, leaked photos of the scene inside Paddock’s hotel room at the Mandalay Bay resort appeared to show a note on a small table near the shooter’s dead body. As of this report, no details have been released about what may have been written on that note.

Their flipping the lights off near the end was most curious, and the unseen shmoe saying all the bodies were deceased... as if anyone could know that! Plus, don't EMTs need light to work, even evaluating corpses and taking them away?! Be interesting to know the exact time of that video, IE how long after the last shooting was it? Was there still real fear of continued shooting at that time? The original ~22K crowd was gone already.

I think there is an exaggerated red in all colors, not just the faces and the blood, also the cameramans fingers, could have to do with the light and the camera!

If you get into photography, it can even be due to the lenses that are used. Some lenses accentuate some colors more than others. Since it was a camera from a cell phone, those are general purpose cameras. Not really good in bad lighting.

Regardless of that though, I know when I was on the carrier and saw that accident the blood had light and deep reds to it. It definitely wasn't consistent in color.

Court records indicated that she started living at the address in August 2013. Paddock sold the condominium in December 2016.

According the ABS-CBN Danley was in Manila, Philippines and then flew to Hong Kong for a short trip.

Bureau of Immigration (BI) officials at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport confirmed that Marilou Danley, said to be gunman Stephen Paddock’s girlfriend, arrived in Manila from Hong Kong on Sept. 25 via Cebu Pacific flight 5J 115.

Based on immigration records, she had flown from Manila on Sept. 22 for a 4-day trip to Hong Kong via Cebu Pacific flight 5J 108. It remains unclear where she came from before her Manila- Hong Kong- Manila trip.

I noted above somewhere, on Mon 10/2, that I wasn't seeing any obvious, laughably bad crisis actors on the talmudvision wrt this "event." The Elvis imitator type would need some narcissistic tendency to doll up himself & his coif so meticulously; but he wasn't the JSM's main focus, nor was what he said especially suspect.

I will agree somewhat, but I have messed with bump tools, and you may be amazed at the fire power that even a pea shooter semi auto can put out if given the right magazine. From the audio I have heard , I can say different calibars were used, which = can match what was found in the room the shooters dead body was found, Most what I can see were .223/5.56 brass, tho I would not be surprised to see some .308/7.62 brass in the mix..But most was .223 from what was showmen. For they that say at 500 yards or so the .223 runs out of gas, try getting into NRA High powered service rifle competition and play a few over the course competition matches.. Been playing in that sandbox for near 30 years. Love battle rattle competition, but my body for sure in the hell not anymore, got too old.

I suspect many rifles were used with drum or extended magnetizes. One gets too dam hot grab another one. But the sounds were more than 30 rounds bursts , mostly so I call drums.

You know one thing that has been eating at me for a few days now, every time I see that pic, is the muzzle brake.
Based on everything I have seen, read, etc. muzzle brakes and bump fire stocks don't play well with each other as you need as much recoil as you can get with a bump device to ensure gear resets. Tons of videos and evidence of this in the old bump fire thread. Yet, this old fucker was able to rip off M240 tempo strings like a pro, with this setup, at a lower ROF than any bump fire video I have seen. Something just doesn't seem right about it. Other observation, is after 10-12 minutes of dumping mags, there's really not that much brass on the carpet. I have shot at many indoor ranges and can tell you, that shooting less rounds than he did swimming in brass. Yes, you don't see links from a M240B, but again, something doesn't add up.....

And BTW, GunBroker has banned all auctions or sales of bump stocks. Everyone's knee is jerking like Muay Thai boxing match.

In the “Fake News Now” show (http://whoolisblog.blogspot.com/2017/10/fake-news-now-episode-39-1032017.html) I listened to yesterday, hosts speculated that the (((Vegas massacre perps))) may have unexpectedly had to grab Stephen ‘Patsy’ Paddock last minute and plug him in as the emergency-replacement star. Like perhaps their former planned patsy who they’d worked for months putting together a proper fake backstory for, fell through for whatever reason (smelled a (((rat))) and pulled a runner) last minute… but the show had to go on Oct 1st, with 1000 other components already laid carefully in place.


That’s how this ham handed Vegas FF starring the implausible Patsy Paddock, looks to me too! The Patsy Paddock narrative just doesn’t add up on any level!


If that’s ^ what indeed happened, I’d guess (((they))) had a scary-muzzie all prepped to be the star. A scary radical moozlem ISIS jihadist, machine gun massacres a nearly all white/conservative/patriotic country western concert… Isn’t that narrative better in tune with (((their Clash of Civilizations/Greater Israel))) agenda??

Here's what actually happened in Vegas. A team of shooters went around the city shooting up hotels first. The shooters ended their shooting spree at the concert. The entire Mandalay narrative is false.

The media is denying this because it does not fit their narrative. This was all real. The woman in this video was at the Bellagio, where the shooters blew the lobby windows out, injured people and killed at least one. Many hotels were involved, but the media is expunging this and Youtube is killing videos. ONE VIDEO SURVIVED BECAUSE AT FIRST THE AUDIO IS POOR. IT GETS VERY CLEAR AT THE END.

Don't skip forward despite the confusing audio, because this woman gets confirmation from hotel staff that she's not B.S. when the audio is bad, and at least that comes across clear. Then at the end, she explains it with perfectly clear audio.
