You don't even need a transmitter, you can use height of eye to calculate your position relative to the curvature of the earth. This is what folks do in the maritime industry. Basically, imagine being out at sea and a lighthouse first comes into view on the horizon. Based upon how high you are above the waterline, and the curvature of the earth, you can calculate exactly how far you are away from that lighthouse.

Can't do that if the world was flat, lol. If anyone believes the world is flat, they are admitting they will forever be lost at sea. I'll use the curvature of the earth. I'll calculate exactly my position. Knowing your position at sea is a little bit important.

The horizon has an edge that move further out the higher you go. If you are not using a measuring instrument to tell you what the gravitational level line of sight is, your observation does not mean anything as it references nothing. Just the fact that the horizon moves further out as the hight increases, tells us that the earth is a globe.

But like McCanney says if you want to believe the earth is flat. Have a ball (pun intended).

It's why the seas are so enormous. It's also why you can sail around the world keeping the same damn compass course.

They didn't measure this correctly at 7800 miles, it is at least 25,000 miles, and they sail at average speeds of over 50 knots in the Southern "Hemisphere"...

Teams working with the world’s most sensitive dark-matter detectors report that they have failed to find the particles, and that the ongoing drought has challenged theorists’ prevailing views..........

The findings have left researchers struggling for answers. “We do not understand how the Universe works at a deeper and more profound level than most of us care to admit,” says Stacy McGaugh, an astrophysicist at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.........

Physicists have widely accepted the existence of dark matter since the 1980s as an explanation for why galaxies remain intact rather than flying apart, which would be expected given the amount of observable mass they contain and how fast they rotate. Researchers surmised that halos of invisible dark matter surround galaxies and stabilize them. Physicists grew more confident when dark-matter models successfully predicted the fluctuations detected in an observable echo of the Big Bang, known as the cosmic microwave background.............

It has taken decades to build experiments capable of detecting the minuscule rate at which WIMPs were thought to interact with matter.
