I have never seen organic pork at the super market, one needs to know a small farmer to get some, so THIS pork (see picture) is what is sold everywhere... bon appetit ???

time to rethink our food habits. Eating 1lb worth of meat daily is insane and the result of profit seeking... and this insanity will not end well. Gluttony is a capital sin. Eating meat every other day and once daily instead will also greatly improve digestive functions.

“To handle all that [pig-farm feces] waste, farmers in North Carolina use a standard practice called the lagoon and spray field system. They flush feces and urine from barns into open-air pits called lagoons, which turn the color of Pepto-Bismol when pink-colored bacteria colonize the waste. To keep the lagoons from overflowing, farmers spray liquid manure on their fields nearby. The result, says Steve Wing, an epidemiologist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is this: ‘The eastern part of North Carolina is covered with shit’.” —National Geographic, 10/30/14

The above quote describes corporate pig farming around the world.

In order to carry out this operation, giant companies like Smithfield have influenced legislators and government-agency officials. Environmental laws and regulations are ignored, or changed. Lawsuits are fought, hammer and tongs.

Here is what Robert F Kennedy Jr. told radio interviewer, Rachel Lewis Hilburn on 6/3/16:

“…a hog produces ten times the amount of fecal waste by weight as a human being, so if you have a facility that has ten thousand hogs in it, it’s producing as much sewage as a city of a hundred thousand people. Smithfield has one plant in Utah—they call it Circle Four Farms—that has a million hogs on it, so it’s producing the same amount of waste as New York City every day.”

Here is Kennedy’s kicker:

“There’s no difference between hog waste and human waste in terms of its danger to human health. They [Smithfield and other giant corporate pig operations] ought to have to have a sewage treatment plant that cleans it up. And yet, if they had to build that sewage treatment plan, it would drive the price of hogs up so that they could no longer function in the marketplace…they ought to have to build sewage treatment facilities but nobody’s making them do that because they have used political clout…”

gluttony = eating ourselves to death while destroying the environment... same with overfishing, we destroy marine life and ocean beds (bottom of the food chain)

Overuse of antibiotics in pig factory farming causing antibiotic resistant superbugs in humans, campaigners warn

For The Love Of Pork: Antibiotic Use On Farms Skyrockets ...

Inside the factory farm, where 97% of U.S. pigs are raised, "[The pigs] never see the light of day," he says. "They never set foot on anything but a bare, hard floor. They breathe that poisoned air 24/7."

Pig shit contains 1200 ppm of organic zinc, essential to protein growth in plants. The only large scale hog raiser in range keeps it all for his corn fields. I'd like some for my farm but there's no other source in range.

Chicken shit is argubaly one of the best fertilizers around, tho needs to be deluted. Stockyards both cow and pig and living down wind from ether is Stinky business, chicken processing plants near the same!

Tho pogy (fish) plants hold the rechord stinch Wise.

Interesting question pig vs chicken shit for fertilizer, tho pig would win for volume on which is the best?

;D

When I had chickens we would pile the straw bedding and till it in the garden at the end of the season. The first grow after that was my first experience with chicken shit. Absolutely miraculous fertilizer. My tomato plants went from 3-4 feet tall to over my head! Everything else planted was over crowded (inc the tomatoes) due to no clue what I was getting into.

manure from pigs/chicken raised in an organic environment is a very different thing... pigs also eat their own manure if you didnt know... and the manure from factory farm is highly infected, cannot be compared to that of an organic farm. Nor the organic farmer does need antibiotic to keep his pigs/chickens alive

Remember that I posted a while ago that 500K cows had been slaughtered by the dairy industry to save the milk price, another evidence that we are forced into overconsuming to protect the profits of the industry

an issue like this one, what we do to the livestock, can only be resolved by getting back to our senses and begin to eat consciously: meat 3 times/week, and one meal... and I guarantee you that it is enough animal proteins to stay healthy.

the cattle/dairies farm factories are no better.

People are so mind controlled into eating meat that such a data causes their brains to go blank. There is a reason as why Nature only creates a zero-sum game, which when corrupted causes pain and suffering. Man was gifted with awareness to learn as how to care about Nature and overcome destruction by war. He is NOT an animal. Darwinism does not apply to him.

Nobody will win the monetization of life.. hence gluttony being a capital sin. To change the world, starts with self-control and non-coercion. This truth has been known for millennia, indeed what did go wrong ??? Why is this knowledge in the hands of secret societies ???

sorry, the Truth is never pleasant and a destroyer. Monetary darwinism makes people shortsighted and do dumb things

we destroy nature either for profits and gluttony, facts are facts... Of course, the irrationality of meat addiction is something that not many people want to face. I understand. Listen if you can make a point in supporting pig/diary/cattle factory farms, animal suffering and whose meat/milk is toxic, then I am willing to listen. Go ahead... (BTW: synthetic meat is coming for people like you)

I really like when people seem to imply that I am the master mind behind all these articles instead of addressing reality. It all boils down as how much we are willing to lose to change the world and stand up for our kids and grand kids... zero-sum game is lurking

how about this then... ? But who cares, earth is being terraformed for the next species anyway, right ??? After all, who care about the billions of gallons of poisonous fracking waste being poured into the oceans?

>>>In September the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized a Clean Water Act permit for new and existing offshore oil and gas platforms operating in federal waters off the coasts of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. The permit allows oil companies to dump unlimited amounts of waste fluid, including chemicals involved in fracking, into the Gulf of Mexico.<<<

The plunder of Nature has never benefited populations but doomed them further... follow the money

Deep-Seabed Mining is the Next Frontier in the Environmental Plunder of Planet Earth
Deep sea explorers continue to discover new forms of sea life in the depths of the world’s ocean, but our oceans are being pursued by mining companies as a huge potential market for minerals extraction.

“The next frontier of mining is going to be in the ocean, because there’s a lot of these rare earth elements and minerals in the sea.” [Source]

The seabed contains potentially trillions of dollars worth of gold alone, as well as copper, cobalt, and many other minerals useful in the production of technology and consumer items. The process is highly controversial, and activists have been working for years to stop this before it starts. Essentially, giant remote-operated equipment is sent to the sea floor to grind up and disintegrate the bed, and material is pumped to containment vessels at the surface.

Considering that the first 10-15 centimeters of the ocean floor is where the vast majority of deep-sea life lives, processes like this on an industrial scale would spell disaster for life there. While deep-sea mining has been of interest to mining companies for decades, since 2000 a small number of exploration contracts have been permitted around the world, but the first actual operating license is about to be granted for mining the seas in Papua New Guinea. This would signal the beginning of a race to carve out mining contracts for states and companies, dividing up an enormous portion of the earth which has until now been relatively untouched.'

One has to wonder if continued destruction of the planet is in our best interest, even if it does serve the consumer economy. At a time when companies are doing everything they can to make their latest products obsolete to fuel sales of new versions of technology products, e-waste is becoming a huge toxic global problem. All the while, major scorched earth projects like the Athabasca Tar Sands project in Canada proceed unabated and supported by government.....

AS determined stakeholders continue to innovate proposed 2019 expedition has its sights set on the coast of Papua New Guinea, where if all goes according to plan, three 200-tonne machines will troll the bottom of the Bismarck Sea for deposits of copper and gold, for Canadian mining company Nautilus Minerals.

in america, 300 animals are slaughtered every second... and people do not even question that because the lie "you must have your animal proteins, drink cow milk daily" has been repeated ad nauseum

Sadly, everything we love/want has a price, can we continue to pay it is the question. I love my bacon.

I also enjoy bacon. I had a couple of huge hogs that I raised and had butchered. Best damn bacon I've ever had. I still have at least a hundred pounds of lard. We rendered much of it and still have much frozen. I hear a lot of negative comments about pork but I have not seen any evidence to back them up.

Goes back to the 19th century when they got lazy and didn't preserve the food and fat. Haul it in caravans at 100F and then it killed people.

you all make me smile... it is not about eliminating meat from your diet completely by cut it down by 50% at least... because our consumption of meat has gone AMOK... so many animals suffering is telling that we do something very wrong

it is meat addiction that has caused 90% of the livestock to become toxic... follow the money and gluttony. Just like milk for strong bones is a scam.

And the fact that you are taking it to the extreme could be a sign of denial. I personally do think we can skip meat for long periods of time*** if*** aware of the 101 nutrition and essential amino acids found in plants.

(not referring to people who own their own organic farm here)
