Mamboni schooled me to buy eggs from real pasture-raised chickens. I'm currently paying eight dollars per dozen.

I read about the lawsuit that was thrown out but 12 states restarted the suit recently. I'm reading 9% increase but FFS from 38¢ to $1.58 over 3 days!

I'm still investigating...

Edit: Didn't find shit! The store had a sign that said "due to market conditions". I'm just not finding it.

I bet these eggs must be delicious

unfortunately paying more to remain healthier is another monetary paradox that will exists as long as consensus believes in competition

every time I go shopping, I feel like having a gun pointed at me: buy wholesome... or die sooner

Funny thing local, is that I hear rosters crowing and people keeping chickens here on my block. Early morning I can hear the battles of the roster voices. A year ago, nada.

But this texas and can not compare to the rest of this nation on what people do. Tho, my area people are getting more so to real living.

Just talked to a very fine lady, that her husband was big in town, he died years ago. My question to her was does she like sourdough bread.

Yes....

So I have a victim, in returning back to at least the old ways of baking and bread.

Give me flour and water and within less than 2 weeks I will make bread, with out any other crap other than maybe sugar/salt and oil.

And not bread that can live without mold for .......?

Natural, no add ones that may or not be healthy.

Flour/water/oil/salt/sugar and natural yeast starter (sourdough)

unfortunately paying more to remain healthier is another monetary paradox that will exists as long as consensus believes in competitionIt's not a paradox at all; if you feed a chicken a shitty diet and keep it caged, that uses less resources than providing a natural diet and providing a chicken more land to be cage free. Because one uses more resources, it costs more, and because the other one uses less resources, it costs less. And amazingly, the one that costs more and uses more resources is a better product than the cheaper one. Duh!

Duh! can speak with some authority, those birds will dam near eat anything. so there is a diff.

On egg and meat taste.

I agree with you on factory chickens that are unnaturally bred for may early growth which = the vast majority of chickens we see in the market.

Natural raised , chickens and not factory egg or meat birds are dam near as rare as hens teeth, pun intended..

At least here in my area natural chickens can be found...

Sorta easy.... I do have a thing for non standard egg color, seen white/brown and all between, depends on the hen and diet. Glass every egg from those souses to keep the surprise factor down.

Here 3 dozen eggs go for abt 6 bucks.

I buy packs of 30

duh... nope it is the quest for profits... greed knows no bound

feeding chickens a shitty diet = more industrial profits... and cheaper for the lower class... greed and eugenics...

being wealthier = looking healthier = healthier food

as I have always say: either greed doesnt care about nature or wants to subdue it... both cause environmental disasters and destroy human' health. Nobody will profit from God/Nature

And more people are starting to see the big picture. Everything is corrupt... everything, and it starts with money, it has only bought our enslavement successfully

The foam suffocates 15,000 chickens in 15 minutes. It's an American invention by Kifco in Illinois. The FDA allows the packaging of these Chickens to be sold as "Free Range". Link is to the promotion website of Avi-foamguard

I started watching it. It's certainly not unpleasant that it's a very pretty face presenting, but that's actually a big problem when one checks the facts. This gal calls herself Erin Janus...real name or pseudonym? Janus - two-faced Roman god. Prophetic and revealing. First, one must understand she's a committed PETAphile. But the biggest problem, and the reason I stopped watching, is that she claims mega agricorps have "genetically manipulated" chickens. While I've made very damn clear I have no use for corporations that do not serve good and the People, I don't tolerate disinformation, either. There have been some limited GE experiments on chickens, to morph them into meat-producing machines. However, there are no "genetically manipulated" layers.

There is no argument that capitalist mega agricorps have turned poultry production - whether for eggs or meat - into a collection of houses of horrors, but disinformation such as that presented ill-colors the entire production.

I used to buy my eggs from a local mennonite family here (northest Texas sticks) and I could see the chickens running free out in the open, within what looked like a couple of acres of fenced in pasture, somewhat like that photo presented by Cebu_4_2 (above).

And they were guarded by two big (I mean MONSTEROUS) dogs who just watched me when I would drive up to see the mennonite family.

The charged $5/dozen, which I gladly paid, and I even struck up a neighborly friendship with them (his wife showed me how to make kefir myself at home). Sadly, as it turned out, they didn't make it financially and had to sell out and move away. None of my local friends and relatives would by eggs from them because they could get them at the local Walmart for half as much (but NOT open range).

Since then, I drive to bigD to a Sprouts store to get what is advertised as "free range" eggs for around $7/dozen - I only eat one hard-boiled egg per day, so I wasn't much help to that mennonite family, as a customer.

That's disgusting. The pricks that use it should be tied down then submerged in it.

Current methods - including whole-house CO2 gas poly-tents or live-haul cage depopulation - waste valuable time.

I'd bet that avian influenza is a factory-farm-made virus occurring when the amount of antibiotics (given to chickens) stop working. In fact these chickens, like pigs, are sick and improper to consumption since day 1

Avian flu is ancient, but there is no argument that these conditions in these chicken factories greatly enhance both its occurrence, and its mutation (into deadlier forms).

A couple of lunatic professors from San Diego State University tell it, farmer’s markets are inherently racist because they are strictly the construct and domain of white people.
