From Jim Stone..........

I just got an Android smart phone (an inexpensive one) for $45 at Wal Mart. If you do not let google record everything full time, AND record video full time, AND take pictures of your environment whenever it wants, AND have full access to all your contacts, AND have full time tracking of your location, it will partially brick the phone, including all web browsing and SMS.I am not mistaken. The phone is an ST Origins with Android 6.0, quad core with GPS and everything else a smart phone has. It is not performance compromised. It is not a performance issue. When you start the browser, it has a list of options, which are:Allow Google to track your location? yes/no
Allow Google to access your camera? yes/no
Allow Google to access your contacts? Yes/no
Allow Google to record audio? Yes/no
Allow Google to access your personal files? Yes/no
Allow Google to make and "manage" phone calls? Yes/no
If you enable ALL OF THEM, you can surf the web and receive text messages. But if you disable a SINGLE ONE, and you try to open the browser, it says it is blocked by your privacy settings and will instantly close. I SHIT YOU NOT.Google also demands that every single file on the phone be recorded to it's "online backup" as soon as it is made, or it will brick the phone. Let's face it. If it is a smartphone, and it can't go online or receive text messages, it is AS GOOD AS BRICKED.
WTF is Google thinking with this BULLSHIT??!!??

I don't even know why they even tell you anything about it. Just monitor everything and everyone covertly! There no penalty for lying to people anymore! Only certain laws are enforced against only certain people.

DuckDuckgo works as a complete bypass for me. Was the first thing I did to my phone, google got pissed so I shut it off... LOL. I only allow location if I use google maps, which was 1 time for 3 minutes and then back off it goes.

Do not use the built in browser. Just download a different browser. I'm using Brave and it seems to work well. I was using Firefox for a while, but they went too SJW for my tastes and ended up ditching them.

no android phone in front of me atm, but recall somewhere in Settings, is a menu to enable/disable all the listed apps. Most use is to speed up their phone, coz some apps you never launch, are still using some mem resources (mostly spying on you, I'd guess!). So if I were forced to install say, FB to enable the Oculus VR goggles + install FB's spy app, I'd toggle FB off & on within that menu, enabled only when necessary to do a specific task.

Also heard that when android auto-updates, they sneakily wipe all your former user/privacy/etc settings to reset things to default max transparency/spy-ability; prolly 'authorized' deep in your android user agreement.

Wait, y'all thought Jewgle "gave" you Android - and GMail, and Voice, and Search - for FREE?! :D

Never assume "turning off" any settings within Android actually "disables" anything, either. If you don't want to be tracked, don't have a mobile phone - and that includes "dumb" phones (which are still tracked by cell towers). A temporary solution is a Faraday bag ("turning off" the device is not sufficient).

It's also why I install AOSP (Android Open Source Project) based Roms. Much much lighter (couple hundred meg, compared to 1.5 GB for most phones base OS.) It's also Open Source and easily review-able. Phone manufacturers like to add their proprietary "tweaks" to the OS, and those are not open.

I rooted my Android phone and have total control. I uninstalled a bunch of "system apps" (Google crap). Some apps don't like that I have no GooglePlay account, some don't care. I get around GooglePlay by using the Yalp Store. When you want to install an app, the Yalp Store uses their own GooglePlay login and password to get you the app. I can also change permissions on any app, so if I like an app but don't want it to have access to my contacts or camera, I can reinstall the app with the permissions I choose to allow. Some apps freak out when you do this but many don't.

I did that with my previous cellphone, but never felt comfortable about it's security. The info I used was kind of sketchy, like I was following a bunch of wannabees who were following some other wannabees.

Ya I know, I'm out of my league, but I do have all the credentials, Mainframe Field Engineer hardware guru. But in that life I had access to ALL of the info PLUS.

Anyway I would appreciate any links you value as reliable sources of info.

Just understand that Jewgle "partner" NSA-TAO doesn't abide by the permissions "choices" you make.

Another decade or so and we should be seeing the sharp uptick in cranial cancers (brain, bone, related). We are already seeing the behavior abnormalities from this microwave exposure, especially for kids.
