A fisherman who jumped ship into bone-chilling water to dodge a speeding motorboat has filed a $372,500 lawsuit, alleging the other driver was distracted by his cellphone just before the dramatic crash caught on video.

Bryan Maess filed the suit earlier this month against Marlin Lee Larsen, 75, over the Aug. 12 crash near the mouth of the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean, the Oregonian reports.

A GoPro camera mounted to Maess’ 20-foot fishing boat captured the chaos in the seconds before Larsen’s 31-foot motorboat crashes into the smaller, stationary vessel. A passenger on Maess’ boat frantically waves his arms and repeatedly screams “Hey!” in a desperate attempt to get the driver’s attention.

Invite a pet into your life, one of the obligations to that pet, is care for health, that apply s to dogs , cats , gerbils and beyond.

Here the lowest temp thinky was 6 in the past , both recorders here last night hit 10, warm for a well diggers ass in alaska , but cold as hell here, tho not sure how long, 3 inches of snow, that lasted over 24 hours, rare as hens teeth here. The snow been mostly 15 years.

Fucked up weather, tho interesting.

:rolleyes: Funnny, book, but real neighbors and their real pets, going nuts because of cold here that has not been seen in many many years. Going on the third day with snow still on the ground.. Been dam near 15-20 years since the last time, here it may snow, but the next day shirtsleeve almost weather.

I heard pets going nuts and suffering wanting anywhere other than where they were. It was insane. Water bowls freezing so no water, most folks here have not a clue, how to live in subfreezing weather, and care of their animals, mostly outside dogs. Temp finally broke above freezing here today. Going to hate my heating bill. Recalling deeper, closer to 20 years as far as temp goes.

That's what they get for anchoring in the channel :) Only half joking there. We have a river here (The Mohawk...or Erie Canal if you will), that winds all over and has VERY tight channels in areas. I can't tell you how many times I've seen little John Boats anchored on the channel edges fishing (that's where you'll find the fish quite often).

With my bassboat it's no big deal, I'm only drafting 6 inches or less on plane. It gets a lot uglier when the big boats are moving through. In fact I believe it's illegal to anchor in the channels in some areas of the river.
