Ok, that was funny. It reminds me of when a good restaurant is sold and the new owners use cheaper food and try to live of the reputation of the previous owners.

The decline of western civilization. How appropriate that it is happening at Whole Foods. I am all for healthy eating but the fuzzy 'New Age' socialist bullshit will undermine and erode efficiency every time. Get ready for reality, it's a bitch.

Trouble is, Bozos moved in and these problems materialized. His monetary worth is $105 billion, highest for an individual in history.
amazon-owned Whole Foods' supply problems are almost certainly due to price-cut extortion being used against suppliers. Prior, Whole Foods was always well-stocked, though 150% of normal street price (hence, "Whole Paycheck Foods")...but the quality was always there.
I agree this is a sign of the decline of Western Civilization, but the disagreement is what mechanism is causing it. I'm glad the rich Millennials and similar - nearly all hard-left or worse - are learning a Limousine Liberal like Bozos is not their friend. Maybe he can give them a free subscription to the Washington ComPost.

Ah, I had no idea it belonged to Bezos now. I don't read much news anymore.

Amazon is wrecking the business, trying to have up scale stuff at Walmart prices doesn't work.

I see this 'order to shelf' nonsense as a way of looting WFM.

I suspect the Whole Foods brand will be gone by 2020. The stores will be converted to amazon Neighborhood or something like that, with wireless-touchless shopping; walk in, amazon app checks you in, you put stuff in your cart, and you walk out, charged automatically at the threshold. * The entire point was to get a real life brick & mortar presence where well-off liberals infest. amazon can't compete directly with Wal-Mart in most areas, but the Hipsters will swallow anything Bozos dishes them out. Buying Whole Foods was a perfect fit, whereas buying another, "lesser" (but larger) chain would have been baggage rather than benefit.

According to this BI article dated yesterday, the problems began before Bezos bought WF.
'Entire aisles are empty': Whole Foods employees reveal why stores are facing a crisis of food shortages (http://www.businessinsider.com/whole-foods-employees-reveal-why-stores-are-facing-a-crisis-of-food-shortages-2018-1)
But Whole Foods employees say the problems began before the acquisition. They blame the shortages on a buying system called order-to-shelf that Whole Foods implemented across its stores early last year.
JITS for the win!

Sounds like Bozos damage control. UNNAMED Whole Foods employees. Convenient. Want to remain anonymous to avoid retaliation? Uh, what retaliation...you're running interference for amazon!
My kid is a huge fan of Whole Foods, and none of these supply problems have been noticed until after Bozos bought WF. It's pretty clear that the brand is going to be phased out, and the radical changes are consistent with that.
Just in time replenishment has been the norm in grocery retail for, what, decades now? I remember backstock disappearing from most stores back in the 1990s.

The articles were 9 days apart and by the same "journalist". She covered a survey on the 17th that placed WF is 10th best (http://www.businessinsider.com/best-supermarkets-in-america-ranking-2018-1/#1-publix-super-markets-1). Maybe Bezos paid her off on the 18th? Schnuck's ain't on the list so it really is piss poor list.
I have not noticed lack of stock at my local grocery store. Gander Mountain was the most obvious prior to their demise. They filled empty shelves with ammo cans, very overpriced ammo cans. Never been to a WF and I won't now that Bezos's hand is involved.
And fuck Camping World/Gander Mountain too. Just another friendly reminder. :)

Empty shelves are the sign of a dying store, not a failed inventory control system.
These "supply issues" arrived at the same time as the amazon Alexa device displays in Whole Foods locations. :)

I watched that one, this could be a reason.... amazon has enough $$$ to cover WF losses if any. I only go at WF for a few items and my reversed osmosis water sold by the gallon

German media celebrate the takeover of their society by the richest man in the world as his megacorp Amazon femwashes away taboo to not push explicit political propaganda through his Alexa AI. Next up, always-on Bezos listening for "domestic violence"?
