No, we are not crazy...but this deal is! It's crazy good! For a limited time, you can get 2017 30 Gram Silver Pandas (https://www.providentmetals.com/2017-30-gram-silver-panda.html?utm_campaign=2017_30g_Panda_4.29&utm_content=2017_30g_Panda_4.29&utm_medium=email&utm_source=zaius) for only $4.29 over melt! Yep, this is lower than the mint-issued price.

That's a great price for Pandas. I picked up a handful of them at a Chinese bullion shop last year when I was in Chinatown, in San Fransisco. Same 2017 date too. Otherwise I might be tempted to pick up a few.

Nope, never buy 30 gram at troy ounce price...

$4.25 over melt means over melt value, not $4.25 over spot-per-troy-oz value.

True, but if you are looking for more silver for your FRN then Provident has Philharmonics random year for $18.40 1 oz t (31.10348 grams) and SAEs random year for $19.20

They also have junk silver on sale right now. It's actually a bit below spot.

For some reason their $100 face value bags cost less per troy oz than their $500 face value bags. If you could afford $500 face value in silver coins, its cheaper to buy 5 $100 bags than it is to buy one $500 bag.

I forgot to include that. I placed a small order for my daughter. I am curious what the condition of the coins will be.

China is trying to leave the Troy Ounce system 31.1 grams and go to 30 grams for their coins. I would rather buy Troy ounce coins only, but that's just me.

For history buffs not long ago silver was going for $4 an oz. Now that amount is the spread between melt and retail.

Let us know when you get them. I'm always afraid I'm going to get a roll of culls* when I buy junk silver unseen.

*It happened to me buying from Apmex once, where a couple rolls of dimes were all worn essentially smooth. It was a mix of mercs with a few barbers in, which was kind of neat, but I was buying for bullion, not collector value.

I see they threw in a couple Standing Liberties; those are fun to have but circulated examples wore down so fast. The way they designed that coin, the date was the first thing to rub off, which is why so many generic standing liberty quarters don't have readable dates.
