A Charleston Black Lives Matter leader who made headlines for attempting to steal a Confederate flag died Tuesday after being shot in New Orleans, his family said.

One of the most famous Black Lives Matter activists in the country has been shot dead in New Orleans. Muhiyyidin Moye aka Muhiyyidin D’baha was killed about 1 a.m. on February 6 after being shot while riding his bicycle, his niece, Camille Weaver, wrote on a Go Fund Me page.

The fundraising page adds that D’baha was shot in the leg and died of blood loss at a local hospital after attempting to cycle for help. Weaver writes, “Around 9-9:30am we received a phone call saying that he had died due to excessive blood loss. We don’t have many details, but will update as soon as we do.” His family are raising money for D’baha’s body to be brought back from New Orleans to his home in Charleston. At the time of writing, the page has raised close to its goal of $7,500.

WCBD, an NBC-affliate, reports d'Baha was in New Orleans for work with his social justice organization. D'Baha's niece, Camille, created a GoFundMe page to raise money to get the activist home andfor his memorial service. As of Wednesday afternoon, over $22,000 had been raised.

Roosevelt Iglus was booked with second-degree murder in the death of 32-year-old Muhiyidin Moye, police announced Wednesday (July 25). Moye, who preferred the last name d'Baha, was killed Feb. 6 in the 1900 block of Bienville Street. He was shot in the thigh and taken in critical condition to a local hospital, where he later died.

Thank you for the clarification. He was a good upstanding child and had honors in the academy. So he was arrested and commended but not shot by a white citizen or cop? Actually, I didn’t think you were facetious. I was on the other hand. And seriously I think most people’s instinct is to get away from these types of subhumans, but many people’s instincts re this has been destroyed through a lifelong cultural Marxist indoctrination (don’t judge people by their superficial appearances). This instinct is our primary protection mechanism to stay out of lethal danger, and it is very accurate. It is like you get a chill inside you when you see them first.

Of course I don’t have this reaction to all blacks, just like I have this reaction to some whites too. But definitely probably a magnitude difference at least between the races, I would guesstimate
