I wonder if this is tied into all the missing people on 411?

Yes, old steel, this one is by far the best and most credible EVER. Would LOVE to have lunch with those uncles!

Ep 190 is a pretty scary one too. One guy shoots one in the chest with a 12 gauge slug and it doesn't go down but comes after them.

Old taylor rd in Mississippi seems to be ground zero for these things.

This one reminds me of the very elaborate tall tale about the two guys who were on Art Bell’s show talking about the alien they captured and stuck in the freezer.

Who goes hunting coyotes with “high brass slugs”* and a .357 revolver?? Who puts out ~30 game cameras?? Who drives TWO MILES deep into the woods to deal with a ‘coyote’ problem in the immediate vicinity of their home zooming through the pitch black woods on a motorized buggy making all sorts of racket?? ???

*like there’s slugs without high brass...?? Now there ARE 3” vs. 2 3/4” slugs.

I enjoy listening whether they're truth or fiction. It entertains me when I get tired of all the doom and gloom here. :-)

I didn't go back and listen to it but as I recall it was in some pretty dense brush and forrest so a 12 ga with slugs may be the best choice. A .223 with a 55 grain bullet probably wouldn't be a better choice for those conditions. His choice of weapons may just have been what he had.

The general consensus on the stories I've listened to is that you don't want to use ballistic tips. What you want is penetration because they seem to have thick hide and dense bone. Full metal jackets or hard cast lead and the larger the caliber and heavier the bullet the better chance you'd have of knocking one down. Head or abdomen shots.

Josh Turner has a lot of stories to tell that are interesting of things that have happened in Texas.

I agree, his failure was assured with that choice. But thats why it rings true.
