The leadership of the Hungarian National Bank (MNB) has decided to bring back home Hungary’s gold reserves.

Up to now, 100,000 ounces (3 tons) of the precious metal were stored in London, which is in total worth some 33 billion forint ($130 million) at current gold prices (https://www.goldbroker.com/charts/gold-price/usd).

The decision seems to be in line with international trends as storage of gold reserves out of the country is now considered risky by more and more central banks. Austrian (https://www.goldbroker.com/news/austria-says-has-repatriated-15-tonnes-gold-from-london-891), German (https://www.goldbroker.com/news/german-central-bank-completes-repatriation-of-28-billion-in-gold-three-years-ahead-of-schedule-1174), and Dutch (https://www.goldbroker.com/news/dutch-central-bank-bring-120-tonnes-gold-back-amsterdam-from-new-york-657) central banks are among those who have recently decided to repatriate their gold reserves. According to MNB, this may also further strengthen market confidence towards Hungary.

Yeah, I thought that photo was worth a relay.

my question was the mount on the helmet.

Is that a mount for some night vision extension, or is it where they mount/hang the entire soldier to the wall?

Franks does not know some other parts of the globe, if it were a crate full of bread it would have that many armed guards in costa rica.

Minus the funky helmets.

Don't be so simple minded singular, the new agreed stadard for gold between central banks today is that they are just plated zinc bars...

For gold being a "barbarous relic", a lot of people still want it. I'll keep mine. Cebu...http://money.cnn.com/2017/08/23/investing/germany-gold-reserves-new-york-paris/index.html

That was in August 2017.

Are they waiting for August 2018 to have a regime change in Germany and all its gold lost?
