Community members and activists are gathering at Sacramento City Hall on Thursday to protest the fatal shooting of an unarmed black man by police.

Black Lives Matter Sacramento is organizing the rally in honor of Stephon Clark, a 22-year-old who was shot Sunday night in his grandparents' backyard, where he was staying.

The two officers yelled that they thought he had a gun in the moments before they shot him, according to audio from body camera footage released Wednesday by Sacramento police. But Clark was only holding a cellphone.

(((Cops))) are worse than nig-nogs. Let the Devil's Kingdom be divided with cops vs negros and jews vs negros. Was curious as to the facts of the case. As usual, we do not have those. We have a sketchy newspaper article that poses more questions than answers.

Seems there were plenty of police surrounding the guy so that they could have made sure he was pulling a gun on them first and then one of their expert marksmen could have, just like the sharp shooters in the old westerns I watch, shot the gun out of his hand, instead a group of police firing a total of maybe 20 rounds into him.

The suspect was probably doing wrong but that could have been dealt with in a court trial. The fumbling bumbling police shot this guy when I cannot see where they had to. In fact they had the guy so outnumbered and surrounded that he could have been easily apprehended, maybe with just a taser even.

" The police said deputies in the helicopter saw Clark break a neighbor's sliding glass door before jumping a fence. The helicopter video does not show the alleged break-in. It picks up as he is running through a backyard and climbing over a fence into a neighboring property. It shows him looking into a truck in the driveway.

The helicopter, flying over the house, then loses sight of the man. It briefly shows him in the backyard as the police are running up the driveway along the side of the house.

"Show me your hands — gun!" one officer yells, according to the body camera footage released Wednesday. It is dark outside and a flashlight from one body camera briefly shows the backyard, but the man is not visible. "Gun, gun, gun," one of the officers yells before they begin shooting.

The helicopter footage shows Clark collapsing as they shoot. It's unclear from the helicopter and body camera video exactly how many shots were fired. Police previously said the officers fired 20 shots."

video at link: http://filmingcops.com/watch-see-helicopter-view-sacramento-police-shooting-stephon-clark-dead/

looks justified to me -- dumbazz was behind/beside people's houses and was right next to somebody's back door when they shot it --- so possible hostages saved from being raped/tortured/killed

that's just my first take....don't know anything except what is on video

stay at home father....just released from jail weeks ago ()\

https://heavy.com/news/2018/03/stephon-clark-sacramento-stephan-stephen-police-shooting/

Stephon Alonzo Clark, whose legal name is Stephan Clark, was a stay-at-home father of two young sons, ages 1 and 3, according to his family.

Though his birth certificate read “Stephen,” Clark changed the spelling of his name from that of his father, Clark’s brother Stevante Clark told the Bee.

Many friends also referred to him as “Zoe,” short for Alonzo, his middle name, the Bee reports.

According to his family, Clark was a Sacramento High School alumnus with a fondness for sneakers, football and video games. Clark left behind two young sons, Cairo and Aiden, reports the Bee.

According to the Bee, the police department said officers were responding to a call of a person breaking car windows nearby. Police said Clark had an “object” that he “extended in front of him” while advancing towards two officers, which led them to believe he was armed with a gun, reports the Bee. No firearm was found at the scene.

According to the Los Angeles Times, police received a call that a six-foot-one man wearing a black hoodie and dark pants was breaking into vehicles, breaking car windows and was hiding in a backyard, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

According to the LA Times, “a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department’s helicopter circling overhead found a man in a backyard at about 9:25 p.m. and directed police officers toward him,” authorities said. “Deputies told police that the man had picked up a “toolbar” and broke a window to a home.”

The LA Times reports that officers gave Clark commands to stop and show his hands, but he immediately fled.

Clark had been released from county jail about a month before his death, Stevante Clark told the Bee.

Video released by the Sacramento Police Department depicts a frantic foot pursuit through darkened streets pierced by white slivers of police flashlight.

The officers spot Clark approaching a house and shout: “Show me your hands! Stop! Stop!”

Clark is seen running, and the two officers round the corner of the house and find him under a covered patio.

An infrared camera on an overhead helicopter briefly loses sight of Clark.

“Show me your hands! Gun!” an officer shouts and ducks behind the wall in a fraction of a second.

The helicopter footage shows one of the officers appearing to grab his partner to pull him to cover.

Best quote I've seen on the subject!

I just don't fucking care any more. I don't care if it's completely unjustified even, I just don't care. I have Negroid fatigue, I don't want to even think about them, I want to be away from them and never see or hear about them ever again. I just don't fucking care at all any more.

In most counties you can look them up. Some free some are pay also matters where they were charged, city county or state.
