I thought conservative by definition meant traditional, or conserved principles that have proven effective or true over time.

The idea seems to be that there several forms of conservatism and some of them are of the "traditional" kind.

Looks like they are selling relativism here so that the newer form of "conservativism" holds to no time-honored principles of right and wrong, etc., but is "flexible" and "neo" as in the neo-conservatives who are constantly peddling war and mass murder of the innocents.

DICTIONaries tell you how to speak a word. DEFINITIONaries tell you what it means.

Try a dictionary that was printed before the 1940's. It's interesting to note the new words that were invented since then...and link them to the social-engineering agendas that arrived since. Very interesting to note that the words "racist" and "racism" did not even exist in the English language until the late thirties.

Communism didn't exist until 1840's when Karl Marx wrote a book. Capitalism didn't exist until the 1850's when it was necessary to combat communism. The holocaust did not happen until 1957 (this was when the word became a noun).
