I was in Walmart today and had to use the facilities. After performing my duty I noticed a sign saying 'EMPLOYEES MUST WASH HANDS'. I waited for a few minutes for an employee to appear to wash my hands but when none appeared I chose to wash my own hands.
I hope this doesn't get me banned from Walmart.

Best I got in this environment. Stupid is obeying signs when no authority is posted and the illustration does that well. Goes to words spoken as well. A store clerk "did you find everything" when you aren't in there for everything, a bank teller "may I help you?" to which you might respond "no I'm just browsing" [who enters a bank to browse?] or a bailiff announcing "ALL RISE" which I will generally ignore on the basis that I am not all or in fact even very many. Then you have the XIV amendment "All persons born in the U.S. are citizens" when the U.S. is nothing but a municipality near the east coast less than 100 square miles in area.
So for people who insist on stupidity my opening post is quite reasonable. Glad you enjoyed it.

"Have a nice day".
"I'll have any damn day I want".
