Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said earlier that the White House was working with governors across the country and that the deployment hopefully begins “immediately.”

Trump tweeted early Wednesday that the U.S. has “very weak” border laws.
“… [While] those of Mexico and Canada are very strong. Congress must change these Obama era, and other, laws NOW,” Trump tweeted. “The Democrats stand in our way – they want people to pour into our country unchecked… CRIME! We will be taking strong action today.”

Trump said earlier in the week that he was sending the military (https://americanmilitarynews.com/2018/04/breaking-trump-says-us-military-will-guard-us-mexico-border-until-wall-can-be-built/) to guard the border until the wall between the U.S. and Mexico can be built. The move would help prevent illegal crossings, the President said.

BREAKING: Trump administration: President working with governors on 'immediate' deployment of National Guard to US-Mexico border.
3:40 PM - Apr 4, 2018 (https://twitter.com/AP/status/981617549640159232)

“Until we can have a wall and proper security, we are going to be guarding our border with the military. That’s a big step,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Tuesday. “We really haven’t done that before, certainly not very much before.”
Currently, U.S. Border Patrol is in charge of patrolling and maintaining the border.
Trump has recently criticized the United States’ “weak” border laws.
“Mexico has very strong immigration laws. We should have those laws,” the President had said. “We have immigration laws that are laughed at by everybody. We need the wall, we need the protection, and we need to change our immigration laws at the border and elsewhere.”

PRESIDENT TRUMP PULLS OUT HIS TRIMMING SHEARS
He Will Be Sending A Request To Congress Next Week, Asking For Substantial Cuts From The Omnibus Spending Bill Just Signed Into Law.
APR 3

A little-known provision in a nearly 45-year-old law just might allow President Donald Trump to cut some of the funding levels in the beheamoth $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill he signed into law just two weeks ago.

Calling the move a “long shot,” The Washington Post reports the president will be sending a “rescission request” to Congress that slashes funding. Details of the cuts weren’t available, according to House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s spokesman, Matt Sparks, but White House Legislative Director Marc Short told the Washington Post:

“The administration is certainly looking at a rescission package, and the president takes seriously his promise to be fiscally responsible.”

The request will reportedly be delivered to Congress upon its return from the Easter-Spring Recess next Monday. The Washington Post report suggests Democrats in the Senate can block the measure, even if it passes the House.

Rescission is defined as “the cancellation of budget authority previously provided by Congress.” It was provided in an obscure clause of the 1974 Impoundment Control Act, and allows the president to request that budgeted funds be rescinded—but Congress must act within 45 days or the funds must be made available as specified originally by Congress.

House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) said he was “very supportive” and “extremely pleased” with the House GOP leadership’s “willingness to engage” on the spending issue. He said he believes McCarthy will work with the White House to “address the issue in a meaningful way.”

Before he signed the omnibus bill, the president reminded Congress he would have vetoed it had he not been compelled on national security grounds to do so. He said he will not sign a bill like it ever again.

Reminds me of a guy I met around 10 years ago. He had volunteered to sit on the Arizona border with the Minutemen until the FBI decided to run background checks on members of this entity. Then he just went there on his own to watch the border. When drug runners or others were found heading north the Border Patrol was contacted.

So why get the military involved when there are sufficient(ly) armed volunteers (aka "the militia") to handle the situation and an administrative agency to dispose of it?

Militia was replaced by National Guard.

Militia was replaced by National Guard.

In that case there would be no need for the 2nd amendment .. no more militia to regulate.

However ... I believe the first general order is still in effect

Cause once the Military sits there for 2-3yrs. and lose their day jobs.

It can be Reordered to clean all AR-15 style semiauto weapons from the U.S. populace by the next Democratic President.

Those orders would be in direct conflict to any Militia.

No, directing U.S. Military to just the other side of the border in Mexico. This recent action has been funded and tried before on numerous occasions.

Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama both deployed National Guard to the border during their administrations. In both cases, however, they went to Congress for approval and funding for those operations

Is probably the Rothchild plan to equip Mexican technocrats into a new loan.

They'll pick the NG by name. Gonzales, Jiminez etc and tell them to unload their rifles and "stand down" and eat burritos and play cards while wetbacks pour across the border like always.

Not sure but isn't the NG state by state issued?

He can assume command of state troops, though not enforce laws within any state unless approved by Governor. The border itself in some swath of Federal jurisdiction.

I doubt many troops would move from any state to it without funds, or unless some Fed emergency funding pool is already available. FEMA may have those dollars if its an emergency. So yeah Trump left it upto the states to provide the troops from all I can tell.
